WTF are you talking about? Leonard came out of retirement after a serious eye injury and picked the ****ing best MW of the last 10 years to fight. never compare FMW to SRL, never.
Can't believe some of you experts thinking Marquez is gonna be easy for Mayweather atsch Just plain ridiculous. No wonder I don't post in here.
It's not about being easy. It's about the irony that a fighter who retires crying about there's no worthy competition out there returns vs. a career featherweight. If it won't be easy for Floyd, he should retire for good, because fans and experts will unleash hell on the cherry picker, who can't win easy even vs. the fighter he cherry picked. And yes, the chances are good that the extra tough and brave Marquez will put up a fight making it very hard to Floyd to make excuses why he couldn't deal with a career featherweight easy, who was pushed back and had an even fight up to the late rounds vs. no-power Juan Diaz, 2 divisions lower.
Why are you calling any man who boxes for a living a cherry. It's so disrespectful to Juan Manuel...size does not matter in this fight. Just say Floyd is way better than Juan and you would like to see him fight someone with better skills....but wait you can't because Juan is not a cherry to be picked!!!!
Exactly! Show some respect to the guy who worked his way up to LW and the P4P list, and if you are a welterweight, don't pick him to look good against, because you have a very serious physical, weight and reach advantage! Simple logic: Floyd was physically stronger than Hatton, it's a fact. Now how will FW Juan Manuel Marquez fare, being a LOT weaker than Ricky Hatton? Floyd is the overall better fighter IMO. But they are not in the same weight category. He's picking an older guy from 2 divisions lower because JMM has a good P4P ranking and a fanbase to buy PPVs. THAT IS cherry picking and disrespectful. We have weight categories for a reason. People fight at a certain category for a reason. Some move up more than once, others stay at a category for most of the time, like JMM at FW for the 80% of his career. Now imagine Paul Williams, another welterweight fighting Juan Manuel Marquez or Juan Diaz. Williams was 145 against Margarito, so it's not out of the question. A welterweight cherry picking a LW, and it's the same, because as long as you can make the welterweight or catchweight limit, you are a fighter in that category no matter how tall you are. Or Mosley fighting Marquez or Juan Diaz. It's disrespectful and makes you look like a cherry picking ****, my friend.
!. maybe you should learn a little more english before misquoting this guy. 2. disrespectful seems to be something you're good at over the net. why don't you take a trip down your local pub tonight and show those big ***** boys down there how big your balls truly are?
Those you mentioned were examples of one's with inferior defense and counter-punching skills. You land enough clean shots on someone without getting hit yourself and it helps considerably on that stopping dealio.
It's plain stupid to be bitching about Floyd fighting Juan Manuel Marquez don't U guys forget that he is the same Juan Marquez fought a very competitive fight with Pac-Man & now he's a push over, U guys say Mayweather cherry picks what about Pac-Man fighting 30 year old men his whole career.
i dont know man i just dont see this as cherry picking because JMM is damn good and the fight will be around 140 to 145 he wont have to fight at welter.....JMM moved up in weight by his own merit being the champion he is he wanted to fight FMJ he called FMJ out....he knows he is not bigger than Floyd but he still choses to fight him because i think he feels he can win and he has a very solid fighters chance.....i dont see how you can knock Floyd for this fight he didnt even pick JMM...JMM picked him and JMM is 2nd P4P....i mean even if he was to fight Manny.....its the same damn thing....Manny hasnt really shown that he is that much better than JMM and has shown no intrest in fighting him again...NO intrest....which tells me he is a damn good fighter.....so whats the problemw ith Floyd accepting that challenge...a fighter who is a legend and arguably a ATG if not an ATG. The fight is a great one if you ask me.....Body stature wise Floyd is not a welter.....his weight may have developed with his body and fits good but his body frame is not of a Welter period...if you think about it we call can gain some weight can go up wiight classes and over time the weight may look good on us but we are still limited in the body frame height, reach, etc.
