to punch and not get hit? why does everyone want everyone to trade blow for blow. if i wanted to watch that why dont they both just stand still and take turns punching each till one quits lol

Because it's more entertaining to some people, watching a competitive matchup where guys put everything on a line and show tramendous amount of bravery is more appealing to some people than a guy dominating and outboxing the other guy. Personally, I enjoy both.

That's because most people watch boxing for the entertainment before the science and art.

The science and art is more important.

so the people who want every fight to be a brawl should be ignored because there idiots and not true boxing fans. boxing is called the sweet science not "brawlers gone wild".

Silly question really. Watch Barrera Morales 1 again (I'm assuming as a boxing fan you have) and tell me it was not one of the greatest fights ever in the history of the sport. If you prefer to watch stuff like Roy Jones vs Hopkins 1 then be my guest, don't knock fighters that lay it all on the line though.

no doubt that was a great fight, and i like watching alot of action as much as the next guy but if everyone goes in like that doesnt that make it basically a street fight with rules. If people dont want to see people "box" then why watch boxing if you want to watch street fights we got youtube, worldstarhiphop etc etc for that.

No, the point of Boxing is to defeat your opponent, mastering both fear and adrenaline along the way.

The artists perfection of Boxing, is to hit and not get hit.

No.. That was just some excuse someone made along the way because they were scared to get ko'd.. Look back to the origination of boxing. Two men stood toe to toe, squared up. The baddest mother****er was left standing.

It's like like the "not the size of the boat, motion in the ocean" bull****. Who you think made that up?? Not the guy buying magnums..

It is a great fight, but this is one example, how many brawls happen a year? most of them are poor.

People should appreciate good brawls and skill.

How boring it would be if every fighter was Hopkins or Mayweather (and I love watching Mayweather), it's good to have a variety.

The Sweet Science. If you can't appreciate it then you should be watching 'Bum Fights' on youtube.

Even ancient Greek boxing made it a point that the guys who could do the hit and not get hit **** were the masters of the game.

As a Mayweather and Hopkins fan, I agree. My favorite fights are when the hit and not get hit boxer ruthlessly schools the puncher or brawler. Hopkins-Trinidad, Mayweather-Hatton, Mayweather-emmanuel, etc
