The UFC realizes that Du Plisses is a bad stylistic matchup for Madesayna, so they chose to run interference.
I have a hard time imagining Madeysanya being able to keep the fight standing since DuPlesis has very good takedowns and a superior ground game. If Dricus can implement a strategy similar to the one Jan Blachowicz used to defeat Izzy, which I'm confident he can, Izzy is in for a very long evening.
I'm disappointed in Izzy's use of a racial epithet in his characterization of DuPlesis, a South African fighter with title aspirations. Even though Adeysanya was speaking in rebuttal to Dricus's statements, he should have never resorted to such a disgustingly infantile choice of words to deal with his anger of being rightfully challenged on his nationality. The good news is he can curtail much of the negative publicity and backlash he's been receiving by issuing a sincere apology to Dricus and anyone else he may have offended, such as his good buddy and fellow champion, Alexander Volkanovski.
So if Robert beats him( which he could) than we have to see Israel Robert 4. I think it would have been a cooler showreel for Isarael to fight Dricus in South Africa and add another fight to his anthology.
Jan is much bigger and stronger than Duplesis and Izzy will destroy him with kicks, Izzy has devastating power and Duplesis is easy to hit.
Duplesis may not be quite as strong as Jan, but he's quicker than him and far more aggressive while still being much stronger than Adeysana, which leads me to believe he'd have a great shot at neutralizing Izzy's kicking with the threat of takedowns, and if he ever manages to get him to the ground, it could turn out very badly.
That's essentially what Fedor did to Cro Cop ... made him scared to use his best weapons in case he got dumped on his ass.
Yeah, Dricus will bring it win or lose I think. He has that kill or be kill mentality. Favor Izzy, but he definitely has a shot if he can make it an ugly fight. Big ask for Dricus to get through Whittaker though, in some ways that might been an even harder matchup for him. The UFC sure likes killing off fresh contenders in divisions that desperately need them.
Adesanya might be the most unlikeable personality I’ve ever seen in the sport and that’s saying quite a bit.
