Risky fight for Vasquez Sr, and one that didn't pay off! Demonic right hand laid him out in the first round :scaredas:

Contreras had a war with Khaosai but needed to move up in weight to flourish, and he did, battering Espinosa (also on youtube) afterwards.

If anyone has his fight with Ray Minus, please upload to youtube, would love to see it :thumbsup

This Venezuelan had some power, a real pure hitter.

Popped up in Mel Gibson's 'Apocalypto' apparently, though I wasn't aware of that when I watched it.

    Good KO.

Vasquez should have been more careful considering Contreras' early power!

Just goes to show you once again that Khaosai is DA MAN! :toney

Nah, Contreras was bigger at the weight than the Thai, he was obviously green at super fly :tong

Nah, that probably is Khaosai's best win, or Yong Kam Kim (or whatever his name was) who was still lanky at super fly and was essentially the lineal Flyweight champion at the time. Don't think he could impose himself on a monster like Khaosai though.

Vasquez didn't fare too well in any of his fights with other great punchers, did he.

After losing to Khaokor, Jibaro Perez and Contreras it looked like his career was done, but he got back on track against a by then washed up looking partied out Perez in their rematch.

I don't think too highly of Vasquez to be honest. Gets good press for picking up various trinkets in various divisions, but never that impressive to me.

Khaokor totally outhustled him in every way imaginable, mental split decision, in Siam as well :patsch

He was a good dangerous fighter with great power at Bantam and Super Bantam, but yeah not a great talent by any means.Pretty basic boxer-puncher

Kind of a more forceful aggressive better offence earlier version of Rafael Marquez.Similar to Carbajal as well.
