He is very good at what he does, trading punches. But I don't see whole lot of boxing skill and no defense, no where near top 10.

If Vazquez was Mosleys size the fight would absolutely be no different than Margarito vs Mosley. Brawling can only get you so far.

tough fight for the raging bull.

no doubt i'd be rooting for him but i can totally see izzy outclassing him and KTFO of vic.

    izzy by KO.

Vazquez is a lot more refined than Margarito. Better speed, defense, accuracy, timing, and combination punching.

Damn man, you highly underestimate Izzy's ability. Vazquez is clearly a better fighter and clearly a much better defensive fighter than Margarito. He's quicker, throws shorter punches, sharper punches as well, throws better combinations, and can avoid punches much better. If you can't see that than I can't help ya.

Not that long ago Izzy was just an above average titlist..not much more. People are overlooking that a litte. He has come to prominence through Gattiesque popularity due to his wars with Marquez.

Who knows how he will come back from the Marquez fights. I would love to see this fight get made.

It is unlikely Vic will win but not totally out of the question..Its a fight that makes sense for both them to be honest, it would be a big money fight..If Vic loses so what he is fighting a much bigger man, if Izzy loses so what he has already given us so much anyway.

Both fight on Showtime, both would sell out any arena in Cali.

That being said Id rather see Vic fight Donaire first...but I do have this feeling Nonito has Vic's number and it wouldnt be such a big fight. So why not just go all out and try his luck against Izzy.

Exactly, Vazquez wasn't thought of as anything special until he beat Marquez. And that fight was a toe to toe war with defense and boxing thrown out.

I have no desire in seeing this. Couple left hooks from Izzy and the fight's over.

    :patsch

Have you only seen the Marquez fights? Both of those guys have defensive skill, they just eschewed it in favor of beating the crap out of each other.

The 2nd Larios fight, the Guerro fight where Izzy had to rally after a tricky start, the Gonzalez fight, the Licona fight. Izzy was far from a defensive technican in these and in a lot of other fights Ive seen from him. He has a great beard, great power with a good offensive array and a near unshakable will, even if he had these skills, which I have yet to see him consistently display, it just isnt his style to use them.

I think geppy is being a tad harsh...Vasquez has good skills not great ones and as for defensively? his face tells the story I reckon.

Oh don't get me wrong, when I say they both have defensive skills, that's like saying that both Roger Clemens and Rollie Fingers could pitch. Marquez is vastly superior defensively, but Vazquez isn't terrible. It's the weakest part of his game to be sure, but it's not enough of a flaw to keep him on the outside looking in at the elite as geppy makes it seem. He's certainly a few notches above Margarito. He doesn't slip a whole lot but he can usually pick some shots off with his glove assuming there's not a ton of speed coming at him.

Izzy ko 4th or 5th round. Vic has balls though going after bigger men.

Vazquez would shatter that Glass Jaw all over the ring.

Vic will be owned badly by Izzy.

Vazquez relies on his very good timing . . . and Vic cannot bully Izzy . . . Vasquez will have a hayday countering Vic as he comes in . . . results?

    Izzy by KO.
