He is an absoloute warrior... he couldnt match up to Marquez with boxing skills, but he made up for it with balls and heart.... also, try Jorge Arce

Would've loved to see him (and Rafa) fight Barrera and Morales.

Executioner nailed it. He had decent skill but wasn't elite there, he would grind down his opponents with a smart inside fighting game and had solid power. World beater for sure, but not in the Elite level.

Two wins over Oscar Larios (KO 1, TKO 3) who was excellent over a long period of time, a TKO 10 over Jhonny Gonzalez who is still a big factor, TKO 6 and W 12 over Rafa, and a load of quality wins over a bevy of solid fighters like Art Simonyam (KO 4), Jorge Luis Valbuena (TKO 11), and Ivan Hernandez (TKO 4) show the guy was border line great.

Was he the best Mexican fighter of his generation? Hell no but he wasn't a complete face first brawler either. The guy had a solid skill set, absurd heart, supernatural stamina and surprising hand speed and accuracy and an underrated boxing brain. A solid counter puncher as well.

Its no accident he did as well as he did.

You might get a chance to see for yourself, I read somewhere that he's making a comeback. I really hope what I read was wrong and that Izzy stays retired.
