    Insane finish.

Basically Madrimov should have been disqualified for punches after the bell.

How on earth can the ref not hear the bell. If the TV picked up on it, and the corner picked up on it, then the ref should have heard it.

I don’t know how the hell the ref didn’t head the bell. I really thought It was gonna be TD when the announcer said “are you ready to find out the winner”. That would’ve been fairer than this, that or the fight proceeding after a couple of minutes.

The right man won, but not in the right way. I expect WBA to order an immediate rematch.

Nothing that's ever happened in boxing in Uzbekistan is any worse than what's been done to foreign boxers MANY times in the USA (Korobov robbed several times, Ward-Kovalev's low blow TKO, Ward-Kovalev robbery, etc).

The ref didn't hear the bell. That's not necessarily deliberate corruption.

No, it couldn't. The three judges scoring 7 rounds for Ward means Kovalev's only chance to win was by knock out. There's no way they were gonna let the Russian beat the American in a fight of this magnitude.

Trying to figure a justification for this stoppage and only thing pops into my head is "protect yourself at all times" bell or no bell.
But, it's not enough to award TKO to the other guy....should have given them rest and restarted the fight. I don't understand why not just let them go again, even if 10 minutes passed, so what? People paid to see this, and both fighters get equal rest, just let it go again.

They really need to hold these refs accountable, instant replay etc. There should be a second ref sitting ringside who can override BS calls like this. It's been waaay too many of them.

Round 1 Madrimov 10-9, very close

Feel out, Soro defended well, jabbed well early, Madrimov closed the gap, but not quite enough. Round could go either way.

    Round 2 Soro 10-9

Soro meeting any aggression with sharp counters on the inside, everything Madrimov starts, Soro finishes stronger.

    Round 3 Soro 10-9

Michel jabbing really well now, landing compact one twos every time Madrimov lunges in. Occasionally walking into a lunges overhand right.

    Round 4 Madrimov 10-9, close

Soro started out really well, Madrimov holding more now, Soro pounding him with the jab and one twos, walking him down, but Israil lands a few body shots ad one two, hurts Soro and fires off, but he recovers.

    Round 5 Madrimov 10-9, close

Madrimov starting to leap in more and more, walking into counter right hooks, so he goes southpaw, walks into two more, that are much nastier, Soro clips him with one, he seems hurt and goes down, ref ruled a slip, not sure about that. Sor lands 3 punch combo, Madrimov fires back, lands a nasty right followed by a one two, Soro hurt, Madrimov unloads, but Soro recovers.Almost a repeat of the last round.

    Round 6 Soro 10-9

Michel out ulta aggressive, pumping out the jab, backing him up throughout, Madrimov trying to counter punch, but Soro beating him to the punch, landing an occasional lunging straight right, along with his persistent jab. Pretty much one sided.

    Round 7 Madrimov 10-9

Soro seems to have taken his foot off the gas, hesitant to throw, Israil taking advantage landing combos, and a few counter hooks, although Soro still made him pay with counter straight rights a time or three.

    Round 8 Soro 10-9, close

Soro very aggressive, working the body, keeping it an inside fight, Madrimov seems to be falling part, although he does have a spell in teh middle that was impressive, but Soro stole back the initiative and closed stronger. Soro edges it with activity.

Round 9 Madrimov wins by TKO

Pretty dominant round with Soro working the body and landing several nasty uppercuts, but Madrimov comes roaring back, hurt Soro late, then flurries for about 15 seconds, the bell sounds and he lands about 6 or 7 more after the bell, the ref waves it. Then Sanchez throws a fit, maybe he's restarted it... they talk for about 10 minutes.... and they don't restart it. No.. they rule it a TKO for Madrimov. What the ****? This should be a DQ win for Soro, or a No Contest. What ****ing shitshow. Goddamn Uzbek amateur hour. No one should ever go and fight there again.

Wow... I gotta say... I'm actually shocked and perplexed at how one sided everyone had this, ridiculously close match. I don't get it. What exactly did Madrimov do in rounds 1-3 that was definitive and round winning?

If anything, that's a freaking DQ. Was the referee drunk? drunk referees should not be allowed.

Don't be, I've been expecting Giyasov to be brutally KTFO for quite some time now. He's terrible. Emmanuel Taylor, the old shot version, had Giyasov badly hurt and all over the place on several occasions. This was the real Giyasov, everything else has flattered him. . Yes, Coria is better than advertised, but that doesn't change the fact that Giyasov is hot garbage.

He must have been the only one near the ring that didn't.

Soros corner sure did, the commentators at ring side did.

Didn't think any of the first three were dominant for Madrimov by any means...it was more that Soro was doing next to nothing offensively yet, just got majorly outworked. It wasn't just us in the RBR thinking so, Halling & Arthur mentioned that he looked rusty and slow to warm up to it, and most people scoring on Twitter had a clean sweep for Madrimov through 4.

But yeah, definitely wasn't a case of Madrimov looking especially brilliant ...just taking advantage of Soro being asleep. Once he woke up around the 5th it became a very competitive fight. :ggg

And he was having an excellent round when that weird BS stoppage happened. Abou deserves a rematch, and if he starts faster next time he can definitely beat Madrimov based on today.
