Uh, do promoters actually do that on occasion? Throw a prospect to the wolves because he shagged said promoter's wife (or something)

Have to say, though...Derry was galant in defeat. He took his beating like a man and gave Choi much credit and took him around the ring after the fight...

Choi - a real gentleman - showed Derry much respect - I was very impressed by both after the fight.

Surprisingly, Parris did quite a good job!

Warren was saying in an interview yesterday that Choi was a step up in class for Derry; he said he would be a tough fight, but that Derry was a very good, talented fighter who would do the business...

...they are all falling for Warren...

...fortunately, Khan tonight will stop the rot; Calzaghe will turn things around and put Warren back on track.

Can't say I'm particularly disappointed. Ever since the absolute filth he pulled against Simpson and then the dodgy decision he got on top of that, I've wanted him to lose.

I never saw him having anything to compete with the top level boys anyway so it's not like we've lost a top contender, despite what Frank Warren would have you believe.

Not the end of the world for Derry anyway, his skills are decent but he lacks a bit of strength despite being a big featherweight.
