It amuses me when people talk about Rios' speech and appearance

    They talk about his supposed slur speech and the way he looks today as if him boxing has caused both. He has always talked and looked this way. Back when he was in our gym as an amateur he was called Chino because he looked Chinese. Brandon struggled in school because he suffered from ADD and a learning disability. What you see today is the new and improved version. Boxing's disciplines and the battles he has fought have made him calmer, and better not worse.

    So you're saying he was born ******ed?? Well congrats to him for getting this far in life despite his mental handicap. But maybe he should quit now, because his fighting style could only lead to pugilistic dementia. That when coupled with his own handicap will transform him into a vegetable.

    Haters gotta hate. :lol: No, I am saying very clearly that boxing has not changed Brandon except for the better. If not for boxing Brandon would either be in jail or working at the beef packing plant with his Dad Manuel.

    There was a thread here last year or 2, that asked if Rios was mongoloid, because he has that down's syndrom look on his face.

    I think he has maybe 5% of some kind of incapacity, but he's OK.

    He gets hit a lot in all his fights win or lose ,the brain over time will tell its tell.

    Lol!! I'm not really hating. It is kinda a joke, but really he does talk and act like my neighbor in high school who was in special ed classes. Not saying he really is ******ed but probably on the lower end of the IQ scale. That whole abcdefg thing during the all access for the maidana fight made him seem even slower than even the regular uneducated working class stiff.

    When Brandon is off camera he is ether calm and respectful or he is an hilarious wild man. Everyone who knows Brandon personally knows he is the life of the party where ever he is. He is fun and funny and sometimes a down right annoying pain. He does not act the same on camera as he does in person. He is fighting to control the wild man within. So he sometimes stumbles and stutters his words. You can see glimpses of the real Brandon when he smiles and says something off the wall. All the cussing is a nervous habit and he only does it when he is really nervous or in a joking way when he is around close friends.

    So you're from the same Kansas town as Rios and Ortiz. Ortiz is also very goofy and ditzy. Is that the norm over there? Not trying to be an ahole, just curious.

    Why diss Brandon Rios for the way he speaks?? If anyone has a speech impediment its Floyd Mayweather jr. He stutters & stammers consistently plus he tells one story then a day or so later he swears he never said it . Do you think he may be ******ed????

    I don't expect any of these working class boxers to be as intelligent or cultured as the Klitschkos but both Rios and Ortiz are much lower on the IQ scale than your typical boxer. Even Mitch Green seems intelligent compared to them.
