It baffles me why British fans dont support Amir Khan and the hate in general

MW you dont know **** about khan, right now he's sort of matured and has calmed down

when he became a pro and was being shoved down our throats he talked a lot of ****.

he said he thinks he could take floyd in a 4 rounder (when he was fighting 4 rounds! :patsch

TBH yeah there is a big part of that. Though like wise the British do get behind their sports people despite their race some of the time. A lot were behind Monty Panesar (Cricketer). TBH there isn't a very large number of successful Asian Brits in sport which is a shame, and it's a shame that Khan himself is so polarising.

The Brits on the whole tend to prefer "the humble guy" rather than the "arrogant guy" (Hatton is a great example of humble and DeGale of arrogant and the way the British public looks at them).

It's not like mccloskey had been putting on diamond performances himself tho, it's not like khan wasn't expected to murder mccloskey either.

I just think looking back on his career, avenging the defeat would mean more than beating paul. But i'm a big fan of closure regarding defeats so long as it's viable.

i dont really know how much of that is true to be honest

naz was able to take brits with him abroad even though it wasnt like how hatton did.

and haye took an entire army with him to germany.

i was at degale vs groves and although there were mostly groves fans degale also had quiet a few fans they were just outnumbered and outshouted by the groves supporters.

in retrospect its easy to say presscot would have been better but at the time mccloskey looked to be the better fighter, none of us knew he would come in and fight like a dick.

Naz was arabic from yemen completely different mindset to that of a ****stani.

Was the same in the states for khan though saw recently when he was signing stuff all you saw was wall to wall asian dudes.

I remember all the hype surrounding Khan. Talkings never bothered me. Because it puts all the pressure on the other fighter to back it up. For some fighters its a confidence booster.

Where Im from if Michael Jordan walks on the court, you're supposed to be like "**** Michael Jordan, let me check this dude". So talking has never mattered to me. It is what it is.

    race/cockiness

you cannot deny his warrior spirit, conditioning, and will to win. yeah he says stupid **** sometimes, but whatever, nice to have a fighter that really seems to believe in himself anyway

How many people watched Haye, Naz and Eubank to watch them lose? Much like many people watch Mayweather for the same reason?

It's polarising and whilst some will love the confidence and flashness, it seems to be a 65-35 split in favour of humble. I might be wrong but it's just the sort of thing I've seen from various forums.

English fans are proceeding with caution after the extremely evident kinks in the armour of Khan. He has yet to dominate a real top guy and shown a suspect chin and akward accuracy and mentality come fight time.
he is not there yet but talks as if he is the best at 140 or 147 aside from King Pacquiao

I think many of the ones who bought the PPV did. I don't think a lot of the "negative" polar fans went over the Germany due to the cost. The PPV figures would have been over 1, 000,000 I reckon a good number were wanting him to lose.
