If Murray wins the talk is that Murray will fight GGG in Monti Carlo, doesn't it make more sense for this fight to take place in the UK. This would be a guaranteed sell out! I'm talking the O2 or the MEN. I'm not saying that !urray would win but how good would it be to see GGG over here.
I'd look to get tickets for that if it was UK based, skysports have been hyping up GGG so the casual fans know who he is too, so I can see it selling.
The moneys made from hbo paying for the fights, + sky and other foreign tv companies. A lot of events in USA are poorly attended but fighters still get paid well enough because of TV money.
I thought his promoter said his next fight was going to be in monte carlo?so TV wise it won't make much difference if its UK or monte carlo it'll still be early in USA, Maybe the shortfall in USA viewers will be made up by UK/ German / Russian TV.
I too can see it being provided on TV to hype up GGG over here and for him to get another good scalp. Although Murray unfortunately isn't as big a name as he should be here, neither fighter may not get the credit or interest deserved if this fight did take place, especially with Murray having fought his main fights on overseas soil with little promotion, and his recent fights taking place in SA in obscurity.
It's a nice idea, don't see it happening though. Murray has been fighting over there and Golovkin's camp have already said that's where the next fight will take place.
I can see it happening right now. Packed stadium, people chanting "there's only oooonnneeee Martin Mur... BOOM! ...ray." :bbb
You'll get nowhere on here with that attitude. People don't want to hear the voice of reason, logic, facts etc. Of course you're right, it's an utterly stupid mismatch. :good By the way, Murray is not certain to win versus Spada, don't forget that.
