Since 2013!!!!! Y’all remember that fire ass year?! Best boxing year of my lifetime! Canelo/Floyd Maidana/Broner Froch/Groves Lara/Angulo Danny Crispy Garcia/Matthysse Dawson/Superpimp Bradley/Provodnikov Alvarado/Provodnikov Garcia/Salido Tyson Marquez/Segura Rios/Alvarado Figueroa/Arakawa Canelo/Trout Donaire/Vic + many more, these are just some of my favorites from a list I found. Talk about it.
2023 is shaping up OK so far actually. If we get the undisputed HW title, a few of these hyped matches like Davis/Garcia and Benavidez/Plant live up to their potential, we could have another good year.
That was a terrible year for me personally, probably shaved a decade or so off of my life. Boxing was pretty much the only joy I could find during it.
Late 2012 and mid 2015 were my own rock bottoms (the wife kicked me out on the street mid Mijares vs. Márquez RBR, four days before my bday ), 2013-14 were actually something of an eye of the hurricane for me.
2010 to 2014 were pretty rough for me with 2013 and 2014 being the worst of it, and to put that into the proper perspective.... that was coming off of a 4 year nervous breakdown that started around 2006. Which 10-14 mad look quaint by comparison.
Certainly was a great year. 2023 is shaping to be a great year, assuming the big fights like Fury vs Usyk and Bivol vs Beterbiev actually do end up happening this year.
Yeah I did not have a good 2013 either. It started fine but I ended the year living in a Honda Accord (in New England, which was very unpleasant) after a breakup and a couple of deaths that sent me into a tailspin.
2015 was also my low point. Was a broke, lonely, 23 year old kid who was down bad. Didn't have a clue what to do or what I was doing. Needed a mentor and luckily found one to pull me out, the Political Science chair at the University I was attending. He loved boxing too. Never could figure out his politics though, but didn't seem like a looney toon lefty like a lot of those other northeast professors.
Yeah, man. That’s kinda what made me remember 2013. It also made me remember how boxing was a lot easier to follow in those days. I think I was getting showtime and hbo for free, or real cheap at the time, and bein sports before directv dropped them. And let me just say that I’m kinda surprised that so many of y’all had so many problems in life during those days. Hopefully everyone is doing good now, or at least better.
That’s pretty crazy to hear, man, cause I remember when you joined this forum(apparently during the peak of your rock bottom)and you kinda took over, lol, no offense IB. Kinda makes sense now, I guess this was like your outlet or some clinical mumbo jumbo like that.
