Huck has always been overrated, protected and corrupted by Sauerlands. This was the first time he fought a real hungry contender, and then he lost...Had he been with Sauerlands they would have bought their way out of a fight against the Pole...
This is closer to the truth than not.Whoever is the moron who match makes for Haymon is a pure amateur-unless it's Haymon himself. In that case ,carry on and get all your "Champs" kayoed.
Its better for the fans. I watch boxing to see competitive fights. Not Careful match-making. Haymon is doing good weather intentional or not
Huck doesnt typcially throw a punch until the 4th rd. So you might be right. However, with the possibility of Huck throwing a punch in the opening 12 minutes, Wilder would be severely tentative to get into range to throw himself. (See Kelvim Price fight) So......it's 50/50 for me. I believe Huck comes into the ring about 208-215. Without having to boil down those 8-15 lbs, Huck might be a little more inclined to not worry about stamina issues later in the fight. And his high guard does him no favors vs boxers since they can bag away downstairs at will. I don't think Ive ever seen Wilder throw a meaningful body shot before, though I could be wrong since Im always waiting for his OH R. That said.......whoever throws first wins. :thumbsup
Huck ain't knocking out no Wilder, Huck also wouldn't be a top 50 fighter in HW boxing. The jump from CW to HW is significant, I'm sure Eric Molina would beat Huck in HW!!! That shot would have had Huck out of there
Huck gained my respect with his Povetkin performance. It would be interesting to see how Wilder fairs against Povetkin.
In reality , Huck should have lost against Arslan and Lebedev. He also lost against Cunningham and now the Polish fighter and Povetkin
the two losses i saw him have were awesome fights. imo he beat Povetik hes what only 30? i wouldnt write him off
Was always fun to watch him, he had a bit of luck with a few decisions (most long term champs do though), and did face a number of top contenders...he was good for the sport despite the hatred he seems to get...
I rate Huck, he's a very good fighter, without doubt a top 5 at CW over recent years (Wlodarcyk, Lebedev, Adamek etc) But in terms of great European's who have had a very good run of defenses in recent times he's sort of an Arthur Abraham type fighter rather than a WK, Calzaghe, Dariusz Michalkzewski type fighter! But still he is a worthy champion of his time & gave us some memorable fights too. He did get a gift against Denis tho! Respect to him anyway & let's not forget also that ya he lost but the guy he lost too is a bit of an unknown & may turn out to be very very good yet! Huck still has mileage in him I think..
