This fight needs to happen and happen soon. There would be absolutely no excuses against Calzaghe if Calzaghe beat Dawson.

And if Dawson beat him, Calzaghe would have been "exposed as the Euro-bum we [the Yanks] always knew that he was", right?

    :huh

So...he is not the man at 168 and 175 already? Who is? Bute and Dawson, respectively? Didn't Calzaghe already beat Kessler and Hopkins?

whilst your points are things I agree with, calling me a noob is very harsh. i've been watching boxing for years, and if you'd read any of my other posts, you'd see i have a decent all-round knowledge.

LOL No. I ss where you're coming from though. Don't get me wrong, Calzaghe is a good fighter, but what top fighter has he beat in there prime? besides Kessler He exposed Jeff Lacy true, but Lacy was a hype job. He beat Kessler who is a good fighter and that is a credible win. He arguably lost to 43 year old Bernard Hopkins and did what he was supposed to do against Roy Jones. I'm not saying Calzaghe is a bum because he is far from that, but lets see him fight more than 1 top fighter in their prime. :good

**** that fight with Dawson or rematches with Hopkins and Jones, Calzaghe should fight Kessler again obviously if he does decide to continue.Kessler showed similar ability but was not quite able to sustain it against Joe,even though the yanks say Kessler who? Kesslers a good fighter.

Joe's an excellent fighter no doubt, but beating a shot Jones (even if its been said a million times on this site) does nothing for me. Although he is the best at his weight (if that means anything). Just like if Hoya beats Pac, its all about the $$$.

Whom do you view as a threat to Joe, among those he hasn't fought already? Please don't say Diaconu. Johnson, maybe, I guess, but Glen needs a meaningful win.

Agreed, even if the fight is in Wales (which, from a financial perspective, it should be).

The only other legitimate fights at this point are maybe Clinton Woods (purely as a farewell fight, but Woods isn't a threat to beat him) and Glen Johnson (who I think is probably the worst stylistic matchup for Joe out there).

Dawson is the unfied LWH champ, and he is in his prime i would give Slappy full credit if he whipped Dawson.

Kessler has done nothing to warrant a rematch. I think he's an excellent fighter, but it appears he may be throwing away his prime years.

...n00b to ESB, of course, not to boxing or whatnot...naive, you must be, if you've read any Calzaghe thread on ESB and still are prepared to stand by your last comment.

You've got quite a post-count, so you're not an ESB n00b. But then, how come you haven't read some of the comments in this very thread, then, if you don't know what people are saying about Calzaghe in general, not to mention the various Calzaghe hate threads we have here every day? Many in this very thread are saying they will START respecting Calzaghe, if he beat Dawson! They are suggesting that beating Dawson would be a bigger achievement than beating Kessler, Hopkins, etc. :patsch

Yeah, and I am the Pope in Rome. As such, let me give you some fatherly advice: don't speak or write about things you have no clue about, my son.:hi:
