Golovkin wants nothing to do with Class A fighters like Ward or Alvarez. He only fights lower level fighters like Kell Brook & Martin Murray, who are no better than Class C fighters.
it would probably be like mathysse postol. ggg would be outboxed and destroyed by the featherfisted boxer
I could accept the Ward comment, I wouldn't have agreed but there is a case to be made, there is that way of looking at it for some. But Alvarez? You just lost any credibility you may have had with that name and comment, Alvarez dropped his title and went back to 154, Alvarez avoided his mandatory, he ducked Golovkin. Alvarez is being ridiculed in Mexico and around the world, yet you think Golovkin wants nothing to do with him? It's just a ridiculous comment. And before I'm informed by somebody..... Yes I know he is a troll but I'm hot and not in the mood.
Risk reward at the time of negotiations is why he didn't. Can't say I know all the details, but at the time of the potential fight ggg had at best a 50/50 shot of beating ward. Just wasn't worth it financially or legacy wise. Now looking back at it with hindsight, he probably should have if it could have occurred at 168. Ward very well could have been drained if it happened in the last year or so. Too late now.
lool GGG doesnt want anything to do with Alvarez yet Yello vacates when GGG came chasing after him Looooooooool when did start following boxing ? yesterday I swear GGG haters are the dummbest phuckks in the history of this forum and thats saying something
I agree about Ward, but what makes you think Alvarez is a class A fighter? Bookies had Canelo as a 1 in 4 underdog vs. GGG, Canleo is NOT an elite fighter obviously.
Ward outboxes Golovkin BAD. I've been saying and watching GGG struggle to box Brook, IMO, confirms it. He looked lethargic and gassed quickly against Brook. Golovkin's previous opponents fought scared, Lemieux was easy to outbox for Golovkin, Brook stood in the pocket and timed, slipped, and controlled range. Ward is bigger, faster, and a better boxer. Golovkin has a puncher's chance.
I think Ward is big enough to effectively tie down GGG for the distance. He would lose a point or two from deductions but IMO win a 12 round UD vs. GGG. Would be a very dirty and ugly fight but he could win it.
164 only got brought up because Ward didn't want to budge on money. GGG wasn't going to take 50/50 without Andre giving up something in return.
