I decided to re-watch Froch Dirrell today. Didn't bother any earlier cause it was crap. When I watched it first time round I thought in my mind as I watched that Dirrell had won by a couple of rounds. After re-watching I scored the fight properly. R1- Froch. R2- Froch R3- Froch R4- Froch R5- Froch R6- Froch R7- Froch R8- Dirrell R9- Dirrell R10- DRAW, due to point deduction. R11- Dirrell R12- Dirrell. So. 116 - 111 for Froch. Obviously how I scored the fight as is irrelevant, I'm no judge, what is relevant is that my second watch of the fight was completely different to the first live watch. Why did I think Dirrell won first time round? He had the best rounds in the fight, round 11, 10 (point deduction aside) especially. He did the eye catching "beautiful" stuff the most. Why did I think that Froch won second time round? There were rounds I scored for Froch where the best shots were landed in clinches, namely 6 and 7, that I perhaps gave Dirrell the nod in first time round. In general he pressed the action and did the ugly stuff (inside fighting), particularly before round 8, better. All in all this was close and I have no problem if someone gave a couple of the rounds another way. I certainly agreed with a lot of posters that Dirrell was hard done by, now I think the result was fair. That is all.
Well I had Froch winning by 3points but didn't give Froch a round until Round Six!!! Just goes to show how difficult this fight was to score
that's fair enough, there were so many rounds that either camp could say that their man won. In fact the 3 judges only reached unanimous decisions on 3 rounds.
The title says it all, its possible to be wrong, the author of this thread is wrong... atleast he is admitting it......
Sorry man your score just seems weird to me. You seemed to favor Froch's strongest rounds to Dirrell and some of dirrells best rounds to Froch.....oh well thats your opinion.
Even if the decision was good, and the scores was good. Carl Crotch was simply awful, slow and look like an amateur. He finally showed us his true colors (even if some of us already spotted the weaknesses). If you're only as good as your last fight, this don't look good for the Cobra....never seen as Cobra slow as this one.
dirrells best rounds were 8,9,10 (draw with point deduction),11,12, they tended to be more decisive. froch's best 4,5,6,7. the first 3 were hardest to score. again all my opinion. ****ing hard fight to score.
4,5,6 and 7 were dirrells worst., plenty of complaining and running, and froch landed his best shots in these rounds. the first 3 i gave to froch for pressing the action. it's not that crazy to me pal
