I think we should all hold fire until we know with certainty was the medical issue actually is. I'm as frustrated as you all but this could be very serious. I know some of you wont care but before you say something that could look awful sooner or later just pause and think about it. And try to have patience and I'm sure the full story will be told soon.
Yes....some people are making sense here, which is interesting in and of itself. No sense in "stripping" a champ if he is clinically ill. Just like a sports team, you don't lose your position due to injury (with some exceptions...look up Wally Pipp). He's surely going to be in therapy, or at the very least will have to take drugs for his bi-polar condition (my non-scientific appraisal) which would cause him to fail a drug test. Have a tournament over an 18 month period that chooses a champ. Once Fury comes out of his treatment, he gets first shot at the title....if he wants it. Sound fair to everyone?
Maybe I jumped the gun abit and if its a serious medical issue I will retract my statements for sure but I honestly believe its more to do with the drug hearing issues. He pulled out the first time on a ankle injury but I saw him dancing in a pub in Ireland on the news around the same time. Ankle injuries take a couple weeks/month top to heal they delayed the fight for several months which I found strange, not long after it comes out that UKAD had actually banned both Fury's for testing positive a year ago. Now the drug problems haven't been resolved and team Fury has pulled out again, its all just fishy. I say make the titles vacant once Fury has sorted the issues he can activate a mandatory fight with the champion. I have a feeling Tyson will be retiring at a young age.
For those who don't think he should be stripped. Just how long do you propose we wait? Its coming up for a year now since the original match up, and Fury has pulled out of a rematch for the second time. Are you prepared to wait another 1 year? Are you prepared to wait another 2 years? All the major belts and lineal title held up for this is really bad for the sport and it can't be tolerated.
18 months is a long time, I think Vlad should fight the number one 1 contender of the WBA and WBO then we have some order again.
It just gives the sport a bad name having a champion especially a heavyweight champion as that is the most recognized champion on the planet not being able to get in the ring after year and several attempts.
No it isn't. He has no mandatory fights yet, so technically he can't be stripped. And it isn't even a year that he conquered the titles. Many champions went longer without being stripped
