he didn't even know who had won the fight in the post fight interview. he was ****ed up. If that was an act, then he is in the wrong profession. He should be in film.

If he had been up, he would be given a few minutes to recuperate, the doctor would probably check him, and if they thought he was ok, the fight would probably have continued. I say "probably", because a fighter getting up after being hit while he was down doesn't automatically mean the fight will continue. It's up to the ref too. Check number 5.

    WBO RULES

    A. Intentional fouls.

      .
    2. If an intentional foul causes an injury and the bout is allowed to continue, the referee shall notify the authorities and deduct two (2) points from the boxer who caused the foul. Point deductions for intentional fouls will be mandatory.
    3. If an intentional foul causes an injury and the injury results in the bout being stopped in a later round, the injured boxer will win by TECHNICAL DECISION if he is ahead on the score cards; and the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DRAW if the injured boxer is behind or even on the score cards.
    4. If the boxer injures himself while attempting to intentionally foul his opponent, the referee will not take any action in his favor, and this injury shall be the same as one produced by a fair blow.

he is a dirty fighter...point blank...all those dirty tactics of holding behind the head and punching and hitting behind the head were not working last night, not only because dirrell made him miss but dirrell was all over that ass...everyone complaining about the knockdown that didnt get called but dirrell actually rocked abraham again and he fell through the ropes that the ref didnt call a knockdown...and chin wise dirrell took a few flush shots early and ate them...so i rate his chin well above average...look closely and you will see that abraham hesistated and out of anger he threw that vicious punch...he loaded that **** up

the doctors were absolutely horrible in the first place...they actually sat there and ****ing basically healed abrahams cut evn after the ref told them that they could not treat the cut...then after dirrell is basically laid out they let him get up when he was clearly out of it...he was crying cuz he thought he got laid out and lost...then he was buggin out on the announcer saying to him who are you get away from me

guys fake being hurt all time, they do it to make sure the foul gets called, this is not new to the sport. i dont know if he faked it or not, but as soon as the ref said he was gonna call for a dr dirrell started to roll over to get up. i dont find in unbelievable that he was exaggerating to make sure the foul was called, but he took it too far and when he realized the ref was calling for a doc he seemed to start to get up but it was too late their was no way the fight was gonna continue

of course the dq was the right call, the ref and docs had no choice but to make that call, but it does matter IF he faked it to the extent that the fight was called, if he could have continued he took away abrahams chance to win

    This is totally false, mate.

The only person who took away Abraham's chance to win was HIMSELF.

You can't just commit a foul and then pray that the other fighter acts like a "warrior", shrugs it off, and gives you another chance. You commit a foul, you get DQ'd. Simple as that.

Don't blame anyone else for Abraham screwing up than Abraham himself.

    Stay focused.

We're not talking about Cortez. We're talking about the rules of boxing.

    Question

--- Where was the Ref when Dirrel slipped ?
ans. Not even close --- in the opposite corner on the other side
    of the ring.

--- Shouldnt the Ref had better position to separate in the event of a slip?

Would Dirrell have been more at a disadvantage to conitnue fighting after taking that type of blow in the 11th?

Although he may have been able to continue, do you doubt that he was hurt and dazed after taking a straight, defenseless shot by Abraham?

Would a 1, 2, 5, 10 point deduction have made a difference since Abraham could have only won by KO?

Do you think it is fair to give Abraham an advantage of being able to now be able to fight a wounded guy who was wounded by an illegal punch, even more likely to be KO'd?

He wasn't so far away, but yes he was a bit far. He generally tried to keep a distance from the fighters, probably to give them more room. But this ref did make mistakes, not surprising he made that one too.
