Most people have been predicting this. Bob sucks boxers dry before worrying about their legacy. I would be surprised if Cotto fights either GGG or Canelo in his next one or two fights.
federations, promoters and some fighters suck the sport dry before worrying about legacy nothing will change until the federations are wiped off the face of the earth and a federation is established that doesn't profit directly from the sport
His mandatory ATM is Rubio. He's got 18 months to make that fight. In the meantime, Rubio will likely lose to Lemieux and Cotto will decision Bradley. Cotto will then fight Alvarez and pass the torch to Canelo. HOPEFULLY.....and I say this with the greatest of optimism, Oscar is serious about feeding Quillin to GGG. By making that fight, Oscar could pacify GGGs wanting an American titlist, and should GGG also get Soliman, who's a tough out for ANYONE, that would allow GGG rightful claim to being CHAMPION at MW holding the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles. He could then move to SMW and chase Ward out the divsion and over to Showtime. At SMW, he can take Abe out first, allow Froch to retire, then take out IBF titlist(Groves/DeGale) and then WBC titlist Dirrel/Bika/Chavez Jr. Nobody truly believes he'll lose any of those fights, though theyre all bonafide names. He could then move to LHW at 35/36 and win a title there as well, though it'd be a lot tougher with the serious height/reach disadvantage and by then his speed would be in decline as well.:think
As much as I wanna see Mayweather kick Pac's ass, I would rather see Cotto get some payback on Pac. Canelo needs to take his big ass up to 160 and fight GGG or Quillin. Mayweather needs to fight Porter or Thurman.I know it's not going down like that but one can dream.
