Sources from Disney, who own ESPN, are going to drop Wednesday Night Fights next year and focus only on Friday Night Fights.

Says the one good thing is they might have more of a budget for Friday Night Fights. Hopefully but it could be BS, will believe it when I see it, might just save the money or spend it on something else. Who knows?:-(

I'd rather have one great (even good) fight night than two mediocre cards.

Well, I was at an auto race a couple weeks ago that drew 120000 and that was considered a bad crowd.

Put a good fight on cable or network TV instead of PPV and I think people will watch.

Nope, the money saved will be used in other programming. They also cut coverage of MLB spring training games.

It's that economy. Hell, even the NBA, and to a lesser extent, the NFL has been suffering from more and more empty seats and sagging season ticket sales this year.

I like as many boxing nights as possible. Wed got some new potential talent that you can keep an eye on to bet on one day. They had it right... wed are scrubs, and rookies, friday nights are journey men and potential prospects, and sat the big time.

I couldn't agree more. Less boxing is a bad thing.
