So you're saying that Floyd did ride off of Hatton and Dlh's coattails, and that PAc didn't or am I missing something lol...

i think cotto takes this one, dont get me wrong pac is a great fighter but the hype train stops here. And if pac happens to win their can not be any excusses about the catchweight even at 142-143.

All we know so far is what you posted as far as I'm aware. Which is the fight at 145 which, as we know, is the weight Cotto asked for.

So, how do you know that he didn't get what he wanted?

They call me a Floyd fan, but I woulnd't cry like they would if their hero Pac lost a fight. I'm more of a Abraham fan than Floyd, but I recognize lies being told about a man, and the reality of boxers/boxing lol...

Don't encourage this guy to post. If you see a post from him ignore it. Encouraging this guy is bad for the forum.

I know that Cotto said 145, but wanted the fight at 147. That is a fact.

Okay I will put it in idiot terms for you idiot! Yeah he gained some fans but its not hundreds of thousands of new fans. Where were all these so called fans when he faught Diaz or even Marquez for that matter. We all knew the numbers with De la Hoya and Hatton would be good because of the opponent not Manny. Same logic applies for Floyd he just had more fans to start with and is a better fighter which is why he has better numers across the board not just a couple of fights, all the fights dumb ass.:hi:
    Thank you come again.

In terms of mainstream crossover appeal, De La Hoya was the global mega-star, and Mayweather was the elite opponent ("De La Hoya is fighting.....") The combination of DLH & FMJ was a good one, and both men contributed to the success of The World Awaits. But it wasn't an equal contribution in that respect.

Hatton-Mayweather was more equal. Mayweather's profile had grown off the back of fighting De La Hoya. He brought a lot to the table, probably not quite as much as Hatton.

I think Pacquiao came to prominence off the back of beating Barrera & Morales, by the time he fought DLH and especially Hatton, he was probably already bigger worldwide than Mayweather has ever been.

    That's my honest assessment.

Of course you didn't get what you wanted. If Pacquiao agreed to fight at a 150lb limit in Puerto Rico, you would still complain that Cotto isn't black enough to be regarded as a legitimate scalp...

What a dumb ass! Those fights were so long ago. What were the numbers for those fights again? Oh yeah not that great. So if thats the case why such horrible numbers against Diaz? Why did Arum not want anyone releasing the PPV numbers for his fight with Hatton? Oh yeah because he knew if Mannys was as big as they thought the numbers would of been better but they were no where near what Floyd did with the same guys. Your a idiot or a hater thats my honest assessment.

Call it what you want but I vividly remember talking to several casual fans after the days and weeks of each of those fights, who not only started the conversations about Pac but couldn't be more excited about seeing him get in the ring again.

As honest as you may want to sound, Floyd's numbers ppv wise are better than Pac's against their common opponents. Pac is not any bigger than Floyd is trust me. Both fighters fan would have a hard argument trying to convince me of this falsehood.
