If Calzaghe is going to get respect out of Pavlik with any punch he better punch with a little more authority than he did against Hopkins.

As for Taylor, I'll say this much for him.. he commanded more respect out of Hopkins with his shots than Calzaghe did with his.

    Please learn about different styles...

Calzaghe's hardest shots, like any other fighter, come from fully sat down shots, he is best at getting them off as guys that come at him, rather than leading, or he's good at countering with them.

Hopkins fouled the fight up and presented constant retreating, as well as his signature defensive prowess, which Pavlik doesn't have.

You could have midgets hang from Taylor's arms and he'd still be able to punch harder than Joe ...

Did you hear anything about the fight potentially being held in the states or that small, wet, foggy Island country across the Atlantic?

Don't count out RJJ coming back into the picture. For JC, the name is what the Jones fight is about. And he should accept a little less to get the fight to happen. Honestly I like Pavlik but JC beating him really will just add another name on the log. To have the scalps of hopkins & Jones, even both are past it, still will look good on the undefeated fight log at the end of the day. Like someone said pavlik has great power but he still is a very raw fighter. He beat taylor in the rematch before a punch was thrown, he has his measure mentally. And I personally think he can't beat Abraham, he will lose a decison to him.

You guys argue about the same **** all of the time. You argue about things that you cannot prove. Some of you come up with some **** like fighter A got hit by B so C should do the same. Well i just have an opinion and that is unless Calzaghe gets old over night Like Kosta Tzyu did against Hatton Pavlik will not win Calzaghe is too experienced and to quick and to good of a boxer.

much better fight than jones would be. I'd have to go with Calzaghe, based on experience

Wow I never thought this fight would actually come off. I have to favor JC since he is just all wrong for Pavlik

I don't need to be a rocket scientist on styles to see when someone's punching like ****. Even Calzaghe's best shots at this point aren't that much greater than Taylor's. If you say otherwise you'll just be overrating his power. And even when Calzaghe does sit down on his shots he only does it for one or two shots at a time, and one and two punches at a time aren't going to be enough to stop Pavlik. If he's going to get stopped he's most likely just going to get overwhelmed by his open-handed flurries in the vain of his fights with Manfredo or Mitchell.

This fight will work out one of two ways. Calzaghe will put on a masterful performance and win a UD, or, more likely, get backed up and KO'ed in rounds 7-10.

JC v KP is the fight to be made. They should make it at 169 in my opinion. No reason why not. That way, no one loses out.

:good Really hope he does it, and I can see him taking Pavlik on this one. I'm just concerned that if Joe does beat him, people will start saying that Pavlik is overrated like they did with Lacy (and some are with Kessler).

BTW - the slightest mention (or picture in this case) of Duran gets the hairs on the back of my neck standing up!
