it seems that juan manuel lopez has been getting too much criticism in this board....

my, oh, my...did it ever occur to you that the main reason why lopez performance lately has not been spectacular (despite the fact that he kept winning) was because he was having trouble maintaining his weight and he is outgrowing the super bantam weight division? I believe once he moves up we'll see the usual juanma lopez again

I agree. It's the samething with Cotto. Cotto was stunned badly by both Corley and Torres but in the ww, Cotto chin is much better. Lopez chin and stamina will be better at the featherweight division and when Lopez beat Luv and then Gamboa, many here that say Lopez is exposed will be exposed as the knuckleheads.

Hopefully, because tbh I can't justify such a bad performance against a guy with not 2 or 3, but 12 (T-W-E-L-V-E) losses in his rec. Juanma himself said he was training hard since he knew Mtagwa was a tough guy... when u r at this level u should always come prepared and in top shape, no excuses of taking ur rival lightly. I think MTAGWA

, so if Juanma goes up a rematch is more than fair for both guys @ 126! If Juanma doesn't rematch, then he deserves all the criticism in the world!! :p

At the end of the day when you hype up fighters as 'future P4P stars' and 'possible ATG's' I think it works both ways when they have a sub-par performance.

but u dudes act like some of the atg had a cakewalk in the park with some of there opponents...alot of fighters always get that one match were people will question how good they are...yes mtagwa had 12 losses but he has fought everyone an doesnt care how he wins or loses....he comes with the same determination sort of like a poor mans margarito or even fulegencio zuniga who comes with same style and even had kelly pavlik on his ass as pavlik was moving up the ranks...to me juanma will be ok...he needs to work a lil more on defense and forget about running thru his opponents...you dudes really think gamboa would run thru mtagwa...hell no...he would run for 12 cuz he does not have lopez chin to take those shots and if gamboa and juanma meet at 126 ill say juan ma by ud

Yep, and they were criticised at the time as well. A lot this criticism isn't aimed at the fighter, it's aimed at the nuthuggers who claim they're a 'future P4Per' or 'definite ATG or stfu'.

    Then Move up in Weight!!!

There tons of people (including me) that were asking: Why is a 26-0 Title Holder fighting a 26-12 fighter anyway????

Personally, I thought Juanma would Destroy Mtagwa with 6-8 rounds. And After watching his poor performance...I just knew there would be some fans using being Weight drained or Over-confident as an EXCUSE!!!

Within 24 hours...Especially in ESB (Not so much in the other forums) they (Juanma Fans) were going on & on..."Oh Juanma took him lightly and He was Over-Confident".

Now its taken 72 hours for someone to bring up the "So Called Weight Issue".

    C'mon Man!!!

So if and when he moves to 126lbs or 130lbs and theres a REPEAT of Saturday Night...How long will it take for The ESB Forum to fill with more excuses for their fighter????

This could be true, but he is still a flawed fighter. He only throws the left hook to the head and body.
