bringing in someone to help his stable of fighters improve defensively. The common thread between most of his fighters is that they have little to no defensive prowess. Manny (is so/so defensively, he's better than some want to act like he is, but still not very good), Khan (is a little below average, but with his skillset and athletic ability there's no reason for him to get hit as much as he does, and he hasn't improved defensively since joining Roach), Linares (obviously great talent offensively, has plenty of tools, but defensively sucks), JCC Jr has little to no real defensive ability either. It's no disrespect to Freddie he's a great trainer and has had a lot of success, as have his fighters, but with their respective offensive and physical gifts, the entire stable could benefit from incorporating sound defensive principles into their game.
Roach is having a terrible ****ing stretch of Late. To recap: Linares gets ****ed up (twice) Pacquiao gets whooped by Marquez Khan gets smacked around by Peterson Not a good run for old Freddie of late.
The Man you have in your avatar would make a great teacher. Especially since he would be able to teach a broad base his defensive style since its more of a traditional style instead of Toney's.
Not to sound ****ed up but is he becoming past prime as a trainer? I don't know how parkinsons accelerates with age
Before we know it, Roach is going to have his fighters drinking some water, baby before throwing in the towel prematurely. Buddy can't keep the curse to himself forever.
