It seems the DATE is now the main issue for PAC-Floyd fight

Team Floyd knew that Team PAC will decide his next fight in January (after the holidays) as what Team PAC stated right after the November 12 PAC-JMM 3 fight.

Why Floyd booked a date and venue without a clear opponent yet? Highly questionable. And there's a possibility that he will be in jail at that date.

Can you present arguments why May 5th has more good reasons than having it in late May?

My guess would be May 5th has become a day big fights are on because of DLH and floyd thinks the fight makes the most money on this weekend. Either way, I don't see why team pac would have a problem with the date. There are more important issues they will have to discuss.

Why couldn't they construct the stadium for May 5? MGM Grand would not stand in the way knowing how many more people it will bring will to Vegas and visiting their casino.

DLH fought on that day, and in Sept. because of his Mexican ancestry. What's floyd connection, other then just money?

I don't when they fight to be honest. But lets be real, saying it MUST happen on 05/05 is just BS.

If I recall correctly, Arum said JMM-Pac IV was a possibility for May 5th.

Now that Mayweather isn't going to jail until after May, May 5th isn't good enough?

Surely Lance, you can't defend that.

Cinco de Mayo is an unofficial holiday in the South West US, where a lot if not most of the PPV and tickets are bought...People are use to a big drinking day with a big fight on 5 de Mayo.

It's become a boxing date as people expect a big fight on that day...Perfect date for a fight, especially the Pac-FMJ fight.

No reason for the fight not to be on May 5th.

The 40,000 seater stadium would have been a good idea but they've kicked the arse out of this for long enough just ****ing do it in the MGM Grand and give the fans what they want for once.

He fought on 5 de Mayo because it's an unofficial holiday where people BBQ, party, drink all night, and have gotten use to buying a big fight, especially in the South West US, such as Vegas and L.A., Phoenix, Texas, etc....

You better bet your ass Mexicans and Mexican Americans would buy the Pac-FMJ fight.

I'm not defending it. I care less is it's 05/05 or later. Just the bull**** that it MUST be on 05/05 and at the MGM is absurd. You see, that's WHY dates and venues are discussed in negotiations. Not a press release or twitter.

PAc vs. Floyd doesn't need a Mexican holiday to sell Isal. It's going to do crazy numbers anytime.

    Good point.

But it still doesn't address the deep cut and also they might have construction scheduling problems with this short time til May 5th. It's nice to have 3 more weeks of time for construction.

They don't need a 40 thousand extra stadium either, it's going to do crazy numbers :rofl

    1. It's more bull**** that pac won't fight May 5th.

    2. People who would not normally buy a PPV fight are more inclined to do so on Cinco de Mayo if they are hosting a Party.

    3. Bars and Grills are more inclined to purchase a PPV fight on a holiday.
