I can't help but be disappointed on this sad news. The rumors are true after all.:patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch
My dad, who is a closefriend of eric pineda, pac's business manager, just confirmed it after meeting up with him just a couple of nights before.
Eric said that the team is interested in hatton after diaz, my dad was quick to reply that they should'nt be rushing on hatton immediately, reasoning that hatton is too big.
Eric said that "Don't panic, it ain't signed yet."
I texted mr.pineda that night and i insisted they instead pick katsidis first because kat reminds me of hatton in many ways, relentless in-your face brawling and inboxing.
Or the winner of nate and guz. So that pac can be the first filipino to unify world titles, One for the pinoy boxing books.(assuming he gets the title from david)
(All his predecessors did not achieved this, even flash elorde, dodie boy, luisito or gerry.) It's good for his legacy anyways, i added.
I hope you listen mr. pineda.(If you go to esb, then you already have a hint on who the author of this thread is) It's just a humble opinion. The team got to take it one step slowly ,sir. He's not even really tested at lw! Money is good but legacy is better you know what i mean? He won't lose options while his on top of the food chain and well assured that he can stay there! Well i guess that's just another thread. I shall prepare an open letter for the pac team and diractly to arum too. Mr.pineda is just too busy (i should know) i don't want to disturb the guy though.

Then Good!! Let's have the Fight in november. Win or lose to Hatton Pac still has that option to Unify 135. He's just moving up to 140 just to beat Hatton. Don't worry buddy Pac will beat Hatton easy.

Hatton looked like **** against slowmo Lazcano so Pac could beat him. Hatton's body is showing signs of age and his punch resistance is clearly decreasing. The Mayweather fight took a lot out of him a lot and if he fights Maligaggi, then Money May and gets hurt again, i think pac will stop him.

I'm the very first to think that Pac will KO Hatton. I'm glad people are now seeing the same.

I believe pac can upset hatton but I believe the sentiments of the thread starter.

    WHAT's THE RUSH?!

Pac should test the waters of 135lbs first. After his david diaz (assuming he wins! I assume he wins!) he should have a tune-up fight before moving up again to 140lbs...

But come to think of it moving up by 10lbs in two fights?
    JMM at 130lbs
    D. Diaz at 135lbs
    Hatton at 140lbs

I believe that is some sort of a record? Moving UP 10lbs in just two fights?
Moving up too fast might be the culprit if he loses. I suggest he gets a tune up fight before fighting hatton immediately..

Just like what they say...slowly but surely...just like cooking. Slow cooking is still the best!

    Just my two cents...

When mosley moved up, he skipped 140 alltogether. He went from 135 to 147. That's 12 lbs in 1 fight.

Yes and as you know in the olden days fighters moved up considerably in weight with fewer classes.

Lazcano is former sparring partner of Pacman. Lazcano is also former 135lber. Depending on how Pac deals with the LW (I think he demolishes all of them bar Guzman and Nate) then a fight with Hatton looks very winnable.

    :thumbsup

As I've said already, I think Pac should fight Casa, Campbell, and Katsidis first before moving up to 140 to fight Hatton..

Pac is not going to beat Hatton.

It will be intersting to come here after this match. I can guarantee Pac fans will be suprised about how Hatton moves Pac backward and I can also guarantee they will think he got wronged by Hatton's clinches and bullying of the smaller man. Its going to be a story of the larger man, with the larger frame, carrying the day in a weight class in which he is conditioned to go 12 rounds in. He will push Pac backwars all night and his body work will be effective against a fighter who stands in front of him and doesn't use lateral movement.

Typical overating of Pac going on here and lack of understanding of weight class.

If Pac will waste time with those 135 pounder, Hatton will gonna have another KO loss in his Resume. There will be no more luster for this fight.

It's a good move. Pac-Hatton is a superfight. Two big names, two P4P fighter, although Hatton will probably be criticized.

Makes remember, in some ways, Pryor-Arguello.
