If you spar bigger people go all out as if it was a fight. Same with people your won weight weeks leading up to a fight or when you know of a fight you need to step up the sparring. Good luck.

Rahman started boxing VERY late and he became heavyweight champ of the world...you're worrying too much about getting into the game "too late."

Yep, Rahman didn't box until he was 20, Martinez was 21 before he took it seriously & Malignaggi was 17 when he started, all former or current world champions so it's not too late by any stretch

I dont know why anyone half there salt would wanna turn pro, unless you're world class you hardly make any money or any recognition,

Amateurs at an international level pays the bills & you get world class opposition, you need to win a golden gloves or ABA's, before even thinkin bout goin pro

Just find the littlest runty kid around, preferrably one who isnt quite right in the heid, give him some boxing gloves, tell your trainer to tell you 'this kid is quality', then pummel the **** out of the kid, if he cries you have suceeded.

    Then feel happy about yourself.

I think what he means was it's way too early to get all bent out of shape about the pros. You should probably worry about going open class first, then Gloves/Regionals/States/Nationals/etc.

Boxing's like any sport. You can get long stretches where you're just not doing that well or making progress. It'll work itself out.

    Edit:

And from the original post, it seems like you've gotten down on yourself because you sparred a guy who was better than you. The ****? You expect to be better than everyone with only 3 fights under your belt? Grow up, hit the gym, and work harder.

Now that's another story entirely...why the hell can't you get any sparring???? How are they gonna put you in the ring if you haven't been sparring?

Coach is out training the all-marine boxing team. So we have other coaches doing mostly cardio, and we spar every once and awhile

Can you get to another gym to spar? A lot of gyms bring their guys to gyms across town pretty regularly to spar.
