Credit to Miguel Cotto I believe he was at his best. Sergio however came in there weak as hell, dude clearly wasn't 100%.That fight looked like a fresh healthy fighter beating on an out of shape sparring partner.

I feel like Martinez pulled a fast one on the public, dude knew his knee's and joints were shot to ****. He was just winging it for money, yeah I know it sounds like an excuse but Martinez robbed the fans tonight, stole that money and got the paycheck.

No way this fight should of been that uncompetitive!!

Feel the same way. I feel like Sergio robbed the public by taking this fight knowing how bad his knees were. A lot of people bet a lot of money on him, like myself.

He really did, he knew he had no business in the ring tonight. Dude was thinking about nothing but the payday.

This is why this sport is dying.
Because of casual fans like you.
Casual fans who believe the sport should go according to how they expect or believe to be concluded.

Boxing is a sport where 100% health is never guaranteed. If you boxed before you know for certain most of your fights you're never at 100% at each fight or sparring match or even a day in training. Fighters face severe to minor injuries from the hands, knees, to back, neck and shoulders and fighting or training concussed. Learn more about the sport and accept reality.

Quitting in the 9th round demonstrates he wasn't close to 100% and didn't belong in the ring at all tonight.

Martinez knew his knees were done for, but he needs the big money for his retirement. Golovkin is a possible fight for Cotto, HBO likes that fight. Golovkin by kockout as Golovkin's knees are fine............

i dont think a golovkin fight would be nearly as lucrative as a canelo vs cotto fight.

I was rooting for Cotto, but Martinez was shot to ****.

His knee was f*cked and it was obvious from the opening bell. His movement gave it away. Very wide stance, and the movement had no fluidity. He looked like he was limping.

I'm surprised he survived 9 rounds given his condition. Martinez was basically a cripple in the fight and even me, as a Cotto fan can admit it.

I'm not buying that ****, he was ready, just not for the Cotto that showed up tonight and he never would have been ready. Cotto is just a better fighter.

Will Cotto fight Paul Williams while Williams is in a wheel chair? Would not surprise me...................

So you think Cotto moving up from a smaller weight, knocking down Martinez 3 times in the first round, experiencing very little resistance from Sergio, quitting in the 9th round is normal? Martinez would have already had to be jacked up before the fight even started to perform this bad!

The fight left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm gunna have to bush my teeth 3 times in a row and use a crapload of mouthwash!!!

I agree Sergio pulled a fast one on the public. He should have known he wasn't 100%, but I think he felt slighted that he never made the big paydays and probably felt like boxing owed him this. It just sucks.
