    Those trunks Sergio had on told the story, dude tried to hide his fragile kneecaps, trunks were falling down, Sergio was falling to the canvas from his own missed punches....it was terrible!! Where was Sergio's offense, barely threw jabs, a few straight lefts with nothing on them, no hooks, uppercuts, zero head movement, there was no challenge posed at all...

    He was more worried about his appearance than fighting a fight. He was more worried about whether the fight pictures would show off his knee pads, so he wore really long trunks that hid his knees. That's freakin lame!!

    sergio & bad knees are nothing if you seen the latest Hasim Rahman fight now that is bad knees. Sergio could fight on if he wanted to, he has a few more before completely shot. Lower competition though...cotto deserves the W big time.

    I would love to be like wow amazing performance by Cotto but it wasn't amazing, Martinez was flailing around the ring from the opening bell. Cotto actually just looked like the same old Cotto, mid range hooks, head low, stalking, he didn't do anything different, Sergio was just horrid!

    Come on, man. Sergio got wobbled by a jab, FFS! Certifiably shot. A shame really.

    BUT props to Cotto for doing something Manny and Floyd wouldn't dare do. :deal

    When i think of lame fights the name that always comes to mind is duckweather.

    His lame ass fight against a severely weight drained Canelo, his boring ass fight against over matched Guerrero his Forrest Gump impersonation against Z Level Baldomir etc The list goes one and on.

    Lame = Duckweather.

    This is (unfortunately IMO as a GGG fan ) true. Cotto can now make millions as the 'MW lineal champ' eiither with a 'Nelo fight or a FMJ rematch. Couldn't blame him for taking either option, though I'd respect him more if he defended against at least one of the MW strapholders first.

    Ah well .. let's see which way the kid jumps.

    We will never know if the knee was hurt before hand or in round 1

    Cotto was accurate and quick

    Improvements are there but it's tough to tell how legit the win is

    I was very disappointed in how it played out

    Are you kidding me?? Did you not see those two big knee pads on his legs? Did you not see him barely able to bend his knee and fall on his face when trying to throw a punch?

    I like Martinez as a person but I would consider this to be a bit of a scam. Martinez had no business being in the ring. Clearly, his knee was shot. He could hardly move. This wasn't a fight. It was a payday. This tells us why Martinez acted so put off by the amount each fighter was getting paid, when, in fact, he knew he better get some money before it is revealed how shot his knees are. The most disappointing aspect to this is it lessens Martinez' credibility. He and his team knew he had no business being in the ring. It really told you nothing about Cotto.
