It was an extremely close fight, coulda gone either way

i don't really agree with the 'it could have gone either way argument'

basically ward was given all the very close rounds and some that favoured kovalev to win, he barely won a single round cleanly, while the kovalev rounds he won were easy to score.

basically everything had to go wards wards on the scorecards for him to get 114-113, everything had to go against kovalev for that scorecard

on the opposite side of the coin, if kovalev had received all the close rounds it would have been a near shutout 118-111 ish sort of score.

it in theory could have gone either way, but if it was going to go either way it should have definetly favoured kovalev, and i backed ward to win

 

B*ll*cks! Ward was lucky if he won 3 rounds. He got his a$$ kicked.

Watched the fight live and again since, Ward did fight well but he still lost the fight. Kovalev should not have lost his belts as Ward simply did nothing to trouble Kovalev beyond momentary body shots. Sorry but this was a bad decision by the judges. Kovalev is still the LHW champ.

 

But many people scored it exactly as the judges did so it really doesn't matter. Accept the loss and look forward to the rematch

 

Maybe they actually thought he won those rounds. If you yourself admit they were close then that shouldn't seem so crazy

 

Two judges thought Ward won 7 out of the last 8 rounds. That's nonsense period.

 

I thought it was very plausible. Disagreeing with it is one thing, calling it nonsense is another

 

One judge had ward winning 5 and 6 AND 9 and 10 LOLOLOLOL wow thats some homecooking right there

 

No it wasn't. Kovalev won round 10... Outlanded Ward in that round by 5 punches.

 

So to you 5 punches is enough to say someone unequivally won a round. 5 punches is enough to overcome every other scoring criteria? 5 punches is enough to cry robery? I'm not buying it

I didn't say it was a robbery genius just a hometown decision. Those two judges screwed up when they gave the 10th round to Ward and it had an impact on the outcome of the fight.

 

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

If it was Kovalev that got rocked by Wards jab in the opening round...

If it was Kovalev that got knockdown by Ward in that 2nd round...

If it was Kovalev that was the one looking bruised up and defeated at the end of fight .

And they still gave that fight to Kovalev....

You never had a scorecard , you know damn well you was not scoring that fight .
