It was astounding how easily Tyson Fury out boxed wlad

Well, I'll be honest.

I, together with a lot of other folks, genuinely thought Wlad would blast Tyson out of there. Wlad has traditionally done well against the big guys, there were a few question marks over Fury's chin (Cunningham fight) and Fury's stoppages seemed to be more a result of accumulation damage than genuine HW power.

So, no chin, no power ... vs an ATG, what could Fury possibly do, right?

As it turned out, quite a bit.

Look, the fight was fairly boring for us that like slugfests. But from a tactical perspective Fury found another level that, respectfully, he never had before this fight. He never let Wlad get set, and boxed rings around him, feinted him, outjabbed him, and generally befuddled Wlad to no end. I think it would be fair to say that the outcome was a complete surprise for most people.

Only very late in the fight, when Wlad seemed to start realising that his belts were going bye-bye, did he open up and actually start unloading, and had a bit more success. Now, it's possible that the domestic problems that he'd been having (coupled with Fury's mindgames) had genuinely affected his performance. It's possible that he's just old and can't pull the trigger anymore.

I would very much like to see him rematch Fury and see if Wlad can perform better and also see if Fury can sustain that very high level that he seems to have found.

Maybe I just haven't watched enough of his fights then!

Respectfully, though, there's a bit of a difference between outboxing Chisoria and wiping the floor with Wladimir. That's another level entirely.

I'd like to see more of him and I hope that he gets his shyte together. If he could hold all his marbles in the sack for 5 years, and have 10-15 high level fights during that time, he'd not only be set for life but put a stamp on boxing.

 

Something was wrong with Wlad that night. I've read a few things about the camp he had, serious family problems keeping him from really focusing. It was a really poor night and he didn't let his hands go.

Four choices then:

1. Fury is excellent, would always win.
2. Fury overperformed on the worst night of Kiltchkos recent boxing life
3. Wlad had a bad camp, an awful night at the office, lost to a better man but is not totally shot
4. Wlad is shot - his last few performances show this

I'm picking 3. Wlad wins a rematch and I think he'll setup and spud Joshua too.

I don't think I typed that, did I.

 

I was shocked at how easy it was, I'm not going to lie. Still think Wlad would have got him in the rematch doe.

 

4 choices that prove YDKSAB. A keen observer knew that angles have always given Wlad major issues. That and moving targets.
Thats what Fury gave Wlad. And gave it to him better than anybody he has ever faced. Thats why Fury won. Because he is the better all around boxer. Its as simple as that. And that not even touching upon Wlads incessant need to clinch which was totally negated by Fury.
Fury beat Wlad at every facet of the game. You can't take your bad camp excuse and stick it.. His camp was miles better than Furys. Fury trained in an emptied out office.
