Golovkins pressure had to be effective for Canelo to be running and looking like he ran a marathon .

Golovkin made him wilt landed shots on him which hurt him but because he is tough and has a good chin it was not so obvious but he was done he just tried to survive from round 3/4

Looking forward to your video man! I too had a similar score. Wasn't a hard fight to score at all. Canelo lost rounds by laying on the ropes and fighting in spots. 1-2 good punches isn't enough to negate that kind of negativity. Thought Jacobs gave Golovkin a much tougher fight.

i could see 6-6 or 7-5 ggg. great performance by canelo. most people thought he would get blown out or knocked out i think those people are finding it hard to give him credit.

It was definitely close. I think a draw or GGG by a point is fair. That one card was atrocious but people are overreacting in terms of insisting Golovkin concretely dominated.

    Just survive? :risas3:

Umm, you when he danced and used while blasting GGG with uppercuts and hooks and keeping him at bay with jabs? That's called ring-generalship and dictating the fight to your advantage. You know, like Leonard did against Hagler and Ali once did in his prime against Liston?

    Guess you musta forgot!

    He did pretty much dominate.

Nobody can honestly give Canelo 6 rounds, let alone 7+.

Most would give Gennady 7+, at the minimum 6.

GGG was the victor, plain and simple. Corruption at its finest.

I thought GGG's defense wasn't given enough credit but it was on point, too He blocked and rolled a lot of Canelo's punches, and looked off some of the cleaner shots that did connect, taking the sting out of the shots.

That said, I think that scoring range sounds about right (I had it 8-4 GGG).

So what were these 7 concrete Golovkin rounds? If you're that convinced you should have a scorecard. People watching the overall fight and then reflecting on who had the better moments or stretches isn't how you score a fight.

Canelo feasibly won 6. You can give him the first 3, the 12th, and two close swing rounds between 6 and 11.

If people are only giving credit for what happened at the end of the round then GGG won about eight rounds.

If people are only giving credit for what happened the first half of the round then Canelo won about 9 rounds.

This fight was very hard for me to score because neither guy fought the entire three minutes of every round its like they took turns.

Then to make matter worse Canelo decides to rest the enitire 7 & 9 th rounds.

I think the judges gave up like myself and just said draw. very difficult fight to score.

    I gave him 4-9. That's 6 straight.

I liked what he did more in the 1st and 11th, but you can have one of those if you'd like. Take the first.

12th I would have to rewatch, iirc Canelo came out early in the first 30 or so seconds then did nothing for 2 minutes before getting seemingly wobbled at the end.

I remember having it 8-4. If you want to go 7-5, fine. There is absolutely no 6th round for Canelo.
