It was evident during the Pac/Clottey fight that Clottey was paid to lose.

Good 'ole Bobby Arum greased up Clottey's pockets and made it clear that he is not in any shape, way or fashion to think about pulling off the upset. It was evident during the fight. Clottey would unload whenever he wanted to and rocked PacGwire's alamadome head back numerous times. When he noticed that he was actually stunning PacGwire he went back into his shell and played the "role" that Arum paid him to play. Arum wants a cash out fight with Money and then he'll throw PacGwire to the side like he has other fighters throughout the years. That mutha****a a snake in the grass I tell ya.

 

I suggest you rewatch the fight and open your eyes while doing so. It's clear as day fella.

 

Even if Clottey would've won he is not an attraction. He would've been in the same boat Winky Wright and Paul Williams were in. In which after they beat some big names they thought they would get the big money fights but due to their style and personalities they did not. Arum made sure clottey got a good amount for taking the fall. Boxing has always been a shady ass game and that type of **** still exists. For ****s sake, just look at Arum's track record. For all the heat Don King catches, that ***** Arum is far worse.

On top of that, yeah, we all know Clottey was never the most active fighter in the world, but c'mon. He literally didn't do **** at times. That **** was way too suspect and obvious. I saw the writing on the wall halfway through the fight. Arum think he slick. Arum is trying to protect his prized pupil until the Money May beatdown in which afterwards Arum will throw him out like a bag of dog ****.
