No Cotto did very well, better then I expected to be honest. But Cotto took a beating in that fight. I think the right side of his body felt worst then his face looked. That last knee he took was from 11 rounds of body shots.

Yep, definetly. Before the eleventh, it was a really close, competitive fight. Cotto outboxed, Margarito outfought. There was no shame in defeat at all.

In my opinion, both guys come away with their reputations improved.

It was a classic ****ing fight that was totally amazing. Both fighters ****ing owned, Cotto's chin and stamina gave out...It was amazing for as long as Cotto could last in there with durable Margarito.

No it was give and take. And i see many sayin Cotto put on a ****ing clinic till the 11th for christsakes. It was a bruising tuff battle. Cotto scored big with counter combos but Margo just wore him down with subtle bodyshots ( some shots blocked,,off the arm and shoulder wore him down as well ) and a few hard uppercuts, a Margo trademark. Wasent a one sided beatdown in any shape or form. The pressure and slow grinding culminated in a late round tko. Stellar fight.

    Nothing but respect to both.

Yup, Cotto was ahead on points at about the halfway point and arguably beyond that . .. but it truly was a beating of epic proportions.

We've seen beatdowns like this but rarley against a guy the calibre of Cotto in his prime.

A beat down yes, because that's how Margarito beats people, but far from one-sided. I felt Cotto pretty much outclassed Margo for the first 6 rounds except for a very few moments were Margo got the better of him. He also held his own in the next two rounds, and in my opinion won the 9th, and was winning the 10th until the final 20 seconds. It was a great fight, arguably the 2nd best of this year, mostly because of Margo's COME-FROM-BEHIND stoppage.

The last round was a beatdown. He didn't want none of that after the 9th or so when he got stunned in the last 10 seconds.

Would you rather be Lacy after fighting Calzag or Miguel Cotto right now? Cotto gets credit for being more competitive than Lacy but was in survival mode in the last few rounds. He took knees and wasn't actually knocked down.

I have the International Broadcast on tape, I've watched the fight twice now.

I'd like someone to point out for me one point before Kenny Baylis pushed him back to issue the count where Margarito took a backward step - Round and time of the round where it happened.

I saw Cotto land slick punches upstairs - but almost NO body work at all - Where was Cotto's vaunted body attack?

Margarito pummelled him in my view, but I had it 96-94 at the end - with 4 rounds asterixed as close - 4,6,8 and 10.

It was a great fight from both fighters.

    Cannot discredit any one's performance.

    They both should be praised.

i used to not be a fan of cotto. Now, i am.

he is a warrior and a great champ still in my eyes.

    unlike PBF's marathon runner.

PBF shlould be in beijing running the 100m contest. ahahahahha
