Hrgovic has an Iron Chin. He wasn’t ever in danger of getting KOed and he had the gas tank to make it to the final round of the fight. These excuses are getting ridiculous.

 

True, and Hrgovic did say Moses does not hit THAT hard, just extremely fast.

But I have never seen Hrgovic as gun-shy as he was in that Moses fight. Mentally and physicslly he shelled up and was too shy to engage Moses because he was being overwhelemed with what was coming his way... I thought it would be more competitive than that and so did hrgovic... but most of the fight was a very one sided affair. Moses did to Hrgovic in those first 6-8 rounds what he did to tomato cans and Taxi drivers.

Haye hit very hard, born with that KO power. Adam Booth would be great, Ben Davison is shite imo. But I am not an expert like Haye and Hrgovic.

 

Yeah we know that after the fact, but prior to that, in rounds 1 to 9 Hrgovic was getting tagged violently and looked in real danger of being KO'd because he is a human being, he is not invulnerable. He is just way more resilient than most.

Hrgovic got mauled on there. Moses punched himself out just like Haye, Abel Sanchez and Hrgovic himself said. All experts in boxing. I defer to their informed and wise opinions.

 

Agreed. I actually underestimated how much talent Moses actually has.

Had a feeling Hrgovic would win. Mainly because Moses didnt quite have the preparation probably needed for Hrgovic. But i thought Hrgovic would tire him out by exposing himself on Moses. Instead he tired him out by being punched about the ring by him.

He did make Hrgovic gunshy and too shy to engage. I still think Moses has one big problem to fix that could derail the very obvious talent. He made Hrgovic gunshy by throwing the kitchen sink at him. What he really needs is to make the opponent gunshy while on the backfoot. The thing that keeps the opponent from walking you down and inturn allow you to get your breather.

Its the one big thing that will decide how well his career goes imo. Haye,s power allowed him to do that i m not sure Moses has quite the same power.

You can learn to set the traps but if the powers not there to really discourage an opponent coming forward....pacing will continue to dog him as talented as he is.

 

It wasn’t a 9 round fight. It was a 12 round fight. Moses was on his way to getting brutally KOed only the towel stopped it. Then, he was stretchered out of the ring. In no round was Hrgovic in danger of being stopped because he’s an Iron Chinned Warrior.

 

Did it ever occur to anyone that Moses just doesn't punch that hard, certainly not as hard as advertised? He's quick and versatile but his power wasn't phasing Hergo, who himself usually gasses and goes into mummy mode. But whenever Hergo got over his hesitancy, which he has had all his career, got on his front foot and pressed the issue, Moses looked out of sorts. And he didn't display fight-changing power at that level.

My suspicion is that Moses is just a bill of goods and will never amount to much.

 

It was a combination of fatigue and 9 rounds of being hit that stopped Itauma.

 

Moses looked like a carbon copy of Price in there wobbly and stumbling like a drunk. I’m not sure Moses comes back from this and he is going to have to prove himself to those of us that aren’t sycophantic nuthuggers. I want to see him in there with Big Bang Zhang in the next 6 months.

 

Most of the shots looked grazing. Nothing major got through especially the end sequence when they all basically missed and he just fell over.

 

You don’t understand OP this forum knows more about boxing than Sanchez, in fact Sanchez is a terrible trainer…

Itauma fought how he always fights. Hrgovics chin played a big role in it all. But to dismiss Hrgovic rolling with, slipping shots and coming on strong to end many of the rounds is dumb. It was part of a gameplan that he stuck to and executed. Itaumas chin isn't certified glass but Hrgovic definitely hurt him as well. He displayed some fighting spirit too. Certainly more than David Price did in some of his losses where exhaustion played a big role. Itauma was always going to gas and be in danger of getting stopped if he didn't take Hrgovic out early or cut him badly enough to where the fight would be stopped in the danger zone period. Myself and many others pointed this out before the fight after Franklin exposed some pacing issues. Itauma is going to totally rework how he approaches boxing or hope that he never encounters anyone like Hrgovic again. If he's willing to change and isn't totally destroyed mentally after this loss he can certainly come again but he will have to do a lot of work. As it stands he blows through a lot of solid fighters, but any top HW who takes him deep WILL drown him.

You don't enter a runner in a marathon race without a thorough preparation over the distance they are going to run.

If it's true Itauma had never sparred 12 rounds, then they were betting all in on him being about to get Hrgovic outa there. Bad bet!

 

That's like dismissing Tyson's power because he could not hurt crackhead mitch green or james tillis. Some fighters can take the power and we know Hrgovic is a tank.

 

Weird. I've seen him really hurt before. Against Big Bang and Dubois. I didn't seen him truly hurt once last night.
