Here you can see more clearly that Filip was catching him with a lot of punches throughout the fight. First right hand Filip landed in the 3rd made Itauma wince. I think the bodyshots eventually made him fold too.

So you don't think you're coming off as a salty old fart? Because you claim to be a fan of boxing and here we have a 21 year old boxing prospect that won and dominated most rounds against a top 5 heavyweight.... in Hrgovic who said post fight "Moses is amazing, he is the best I have ever fought"

And this was the best shape and prepared Hrgovic has ever been. He has 10x the experience Itauma has... and is in his PEAK.

So how is Moses a hypejob??? Seems like he has lived up to the Hype considering this high praise from a now Heavyweight Champion.

 

So gas tank problems, mentality/attitude problems, and his chin is still suspect. And we were told this kid wipes out the HW division, including Usyk, easy peasy. Boxing fans stay delusional. The boxing media/establishment stay deceitful trying to sell fighters.

 

Ituama's chin and will can't be questioned. Hrgovic exposed the issues, as we knew he would win or lose. Stamina, pacing, and strategy. Fortunately for Ituama, those are all fixable, his actual fighting ability is absolutely amazing. He really is that good.

He needs rounds. A lot of them. And cardio. A lot of it.

I have an idea. Have him fight a few uber drivers, but purposely wait until the end to KO them. 10 round fights, no KO's before round 9. Just to get rounds in and to learn how to fight for points.

 

Itauma was meant to trounce Hrgovic. They picked a slow, easy to hit, cut prone fighter with name recognition as Moses coming out party. Unfortunately the Itauma team failed to give Filip the memo nor did they get Moses properly prepared for a tough 12 round match.

Hrgovic said Itauma was amazing but he also said he fights like an amateur. He lacked the ring IQ to pace himself and awareness to realise that a quickie KO wasn't going to happen. He fought a stupid fight largely because people like yourself were p1ssing in his pocket and had already anointed greatness upon an unproven novice.
It up to Itauma to rebuild his career because the image of him stumbling all over the ring before leaving on a stretcher will take a long time to live down.

 

Once he fatigued, Hrgovic could actually start getting to him and land his own shots though which put him away.

I saw that earlier, Davison deserves some more credit for actually giving reasonable advice going off the footage but he still has a lot to answer for.

 

I hate that we can't seem to give Hrgovic even an ounce of credit. He took the punches and hurt Itauma in the 8th and 9th rounds.

I find it incredible that so many did not see how well Hrgo was doing in losing the rounds he did. His punches were efficient, sharp and hurtful and his 'defence' was much better than he is given credit for. This was no freak 'perfect storm' it was perfect tactics and a perfect performance. I can't see how else he could have won and survived long enough to win...

 

I still think both Davidson and Moses showed their inexperience. To Bens credit he did tell him to slow down. But that should have been the whole gameplan from the start against someone like Hrgovic.

I think the kids battered everyone thats been put in with him. I think they,ve had massive success with sparring and hes been going through people. The evidence their working with has pointed towards going out against Hrgovic and doing more of the same.

At that kind of level tho with a 21 year old without the learning fights he needed going in...a massive part of the gameplan should have been energy conservation.

He was starting to tire against Franklin due to his pace being so high. I still say that fight could have got interesting if Franklin got out another round or two.

Davidson should have been on him from the first round to slow it down. Conserve energy. That should have been a massive part of the preparation for the fight. It does make me question if the kid can fight on the back foot.

That would make sense why it was all or bust. Maybe just inexperience from both but maybe the tactics are hiding a bit of a short coming.
