What ****! Hatton did NOT look that bad. If you cut out the other guy in the ring he was moving and punching just as he did against Tszyu and PBF and Castillo. He was no more open in this fight than in any other fight, but the problem was that he was no LESS open and Pac took advantage of it better than any previous opponent did. This was 100% an issue of styles (speed/power/accuracy vs. hands down rush in) and had nothing to do with Hatton being off.
do you think if fighters knew themselves better than "any wanker on a message board" they would know when to retire too?
So he was harder to hit before? Collazo rocked him and hit him. PBF hit him at will with the lead right, he was so cautious he waited until the 8th round to unload and when he did, finish. mallignaggi hit Hatton lots, its just didnt do any damage. Now consider Pac is one of the best puncher's in the sport, one of the fastest. If a check hook from PBF can put Hatton down, why cant the right hooks that Pac kept hitting him with do the same thing. pac was always gonna land on hatton, I just didnt think his power would carry that well. Check out the first KD, perfect timing. Check out the 3kd, that would have put anyone down. I think this goes back to the old cliche of styles makes fights. A puncher beats a swarmer, swarmer beats a boxer, a boxer beats a puncher. Hatton was the swarmer without defense fighting a puncher who can also box. Kostya didnt do the same thing because he wasnt a southpaw, he wasnt as explosive, he needed room to time his right hand and he didnt have great left hooks, nor was he as fast. Styles.
You get some kudos for originality. You're the first one to think of that. :good Then again, you have to blame Hatton for hiring Mayweather Sr.
i'm not american..and stop quoting the bible as if it makes you less ignorant. grab some life experince instead. you sorely need it.
Pac was better than Hatton. Styles and gameplan were responsible for the outcome of the fight and the nature of the fight didn't do any justice to Hatton. There are no excuses, Hatton lost, Pacquiao was brilliant.
Yeah, you're right, mate. That denial syndrome again. After denial comes rationalization..... meaning excuses. I've got to understand them because it's really a painful loss too hard to accept.
LOL. Yes, it's painfully obvious that Hatton should now retire. But show me one post by a wanker on a message board who said he should have retired BEFORE the fight. No one thought he was shot prior to the fight... not him, not his camp, not the experts, not his fellow boxers. Sure he was no longer undefeated, but if every fighter quit after their first loss, there would barely be any boxers left to make a fight.
I agree, it was a bad style match for Hatton, and I have said it in numerous pre-fight posts. Nevertheless, I don't agree that he was performing at par. Mayweather and Tszyu have as much speed/power/accuracy as Pacquiao, yet they couldn't finish him early.
