For my part, I had always been convinced of this, in particular thanks to the fact that AJ has had much better opposition since 2016 than Wilder. But today, we finally have indisputable proof that it was not Joshua and Hearn who were blocking the fight. Wilder also had duck Povetkin in 2016 (he didn't mind facing Ortiz five months after testing positive) and we all know he takes Tyson Fury in 2018 because he thinks he's finished. Luckily for the boxing world, Fury demolished Wilder and coincidentally just a year after a two-fight contract was signed
After Fury has dealt with AJ then if wilder has the bottle him and AJ could make their own super fight. I'd PREFER to see AJ Vs Wilder it's a more competitive more intriguing fight & it's not going the distance.
Fair enough, but I'd still rather watch Wilder all day then sit through another 12 awful rounds of Fury 'outboxing''his opponent
I really think both sides wanted to build that AJ-Wilder fight up over a few years, they didn't really want it in 2018, they wanted it for 2020 and were quite confident that both fighters would carry on winning. That was before Fury and Ruiz proved the point that Wilder and AJ were both a bit crap.
Oh, yeah. Both : A.J and Wilder had suffered. Before Wilder vs Fury I and A.J vs Ruiz Jr : full internet with comments: forums, YT comments how EASILY they will beat up and finish Fury and Ruiz Jr. These fans ofc had been really shocked and disappointed when expected outcome did not happened.
