Kotelnik is a good stand up boxer. Nice jab, good straight punches, very technically adept. He's not much of a mover, and does not have concussive power in his punches, although probably enough to hurt Khan if he lands cleanly.

Why is he going to Light Welterweight, Lightweight too dangerous? Or is this just a win the title and come back down?

theyve been saying for a while he wouldnt be at lightweight for long, hes too big, hes probably actually more like a natural welter let alone light-welter

I guess money speaks for a lot of things. I wouldn't blame Kotelnik for taking this fight, he will be paid well and its very winnable.

    • Junior welterweight Victor Ortiz and junior middleweight James Kirkland, Golden Boy's prized rising stars, will get their first opportunities to fight for world titles this summer, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN.com. Schaefer said he has come to terms with Universum, which promotes junior welterweight titlist Andreas Kotelnik and junior middleweight beltholder Sergei Dzindziruk. "I made a deal with Universum," Schaefer said. "We have agreed on the monetary side. We made a deal for both fights and to have them in the United States." Schaefer said Universum was finalizing its deals with its fighters. Schaefer said Kotelnik-Ortiz will take place June 27 in Los Angeles -- either at the Staples Center or the smaller Nokia Theatre across the street -- on HBO's "Boxing After Dark."

Yeah, I don't think Khan is fighting Kotelnik

it was supposed to be a triple header with john-juarez, ortiz-kotelnik and driz-krikland...i do not know what happened that the driz-kirkland was moved to august...it could have been a fantastic card

If this fight actually materializes, and it ends inside of the distance, I'd say Khan would be the one getting stopped. Kotelnik has an excellent chin and defense that has held up against much bigger punchers than Khan.
