Strength and power all have their place and will sometimes pop up a win on their own accord. But technique, skill and training are what give boxers the edge in their contests. It's Louis vs Galento all over again.
You've become such a bitter hater, it really is a sad sight to see. Yeah, he's more than capable of beating those three absolute scrubs. I doubt Zhang even beats Joyce in the rematch and Hrgovic is utter crap. Beating the number 2 guy in a division that everyone picks to brutally KO him, tends to do that. But what exactly are you referring to? Having 1 bad round then taking exactly one more to find his rhythm against Chisora, then dominating him for the next 10, isn't what I'd "bad." And what was bad about his performance against Witherspoon? He won every second of it and stopped him in 7.
A fighter is always a unique mixture of assets. Some are given more, but lose to others seemingly less gifted. I don't mean in for the Usyk-Dubois case. So in the end it's like some eternal contest which way is better. I don't argue, I get your point. It is interesting how different fighters validate different cases.
If I were a hardcore Croat nationalist or someone who wanted to see Usyk's career horribly tarnished I might well agree. Hrgovic would be a wide underdog vs Usyk but likely favoured or at least 50-50 vs Dubois, so I can understand why you want Dubois to beat Usyk. Though if Dubois wins and there's no rematch clause, Fury might jump on that fight and Hrgovic would get passed over for a while anyway.
Dubois beating usyk or aj stopping wilder would certainly break everyone's rankings and really change the perception of this era of hws as being "usyk and fury then everyone else"
None of these fights were Level of Usyk and you know it. Performance is everything when it comes to world level fighters. Usyk himself rated his performance against Chisora 3/10 Not really. It's just you and others really think that Usyk is unbeatable, by just schooling AJ. For me right now, that's not enough. I was one of the first on this forum to Choose Usyk to beat AJ and you know that.
I chose Usyk to beat AJ with absolute ease 7 years before they fought. So him beating Joshua has nothing to do with me thinking he's unbeatable. IB and I have been hyping him for almost a decade, because we've always thought he was unbeatable. All he did was prove how right we were when he dominated Joshua. Thus far I've seen nothing to give me doubt that he wouldn't do the same to everyone else in this wasteland of a division, and that includes Tyson Fury. So stay on the bandwagon, there's no reason to abandon now.
Usyk losing would be a positive only in the sense that Dubois is more likely to be active than him and the undisputed fight would be more likely to happen. But ... rematch clause. Also, I'd hate to see a fighter of Usyk's caliber get aged out because Fury has been unreasonable. The best thing that could happen for the division would be for Fury to **** off again. He's holding up everything, along with the Saudis.
Don't forget, the only reason Usyk has been inactive is dicking around with Fury who was never going to fight him, and waiting for Dubois' knee to heal.
He was inactive before that, tho. He's another once per year guy, which sucks. I do blame Fury for the undisputed not happening, but Usyk doesn't have clean hands either in terms of his inactivity.
Even as an Englishman, I'll root for Usyk in this one. Dubois can only win by a punchers chance, and I so desperately want to see Usyk fight Fury. Thats the perfect ending to this era.
Usyk is aging and he will get worse. sadly. His biggest advantage is footwork and angles, will get worse by the time I still think He would school Fury and make him look like an amateur, but not everyone, there are styles that Usyk can't beat at his age right now.
This poster is a well known Usyk hater. He's consistently Pro Russian in every shape and form, so praising a Ukrainian boxer is impossible.
Hrgovic is taking another break from boxing. He's going to focus on his singing career ,notably a cover of a Chas and Dave classic. This content is protected
