It would be unfairly disgraceful to give anymore than 45% of the purse to Pac.

Floyd's nowhere to go but face Manny. Manny has other options besides Floyd. Pac can go back to 140 and fight JMM, Valero or Bradley and still would be a great fight and will do good PPV buys. Who's left for Floyd?

belts are meaningless now-a-days. but won't mayweather get mosley's belt if/when he beats him?

Nobody is doubting that Mayweather-Mosley will outperform Pacquiao-Clottey. Clottey is simply not a draw, and just because it's the most recent fight with Pacquiao it doesn't mean that it serves as the basis for purse negotiations.

It's not just PPV performance alone that determines the purse split. Other considerations such as popularity, P4P rankings, and fighter options. Pacquiao has other fights available. Which other fighter is Floyd supposed to face if he beats Mosley?

good point and the fight ain't happening unless mayweather wins. but you're right: belts don't mean anything especially in a fight of this magnitude

If Floyed wants to make huge money he has to fight Pac so he has no way of negotiating 60:40. After Shane who can he fight and still make more than 20 mil? No one. If he wants to make than >20 mil he needs Pac so it is 50:50 or 10 mil fighting someone else.

Clottey also did 650+ against Pac, by your logic, Clottey is twice the draw Barrera, JMM or Morales are since they never came anywhere near that. Idioto.

How can anyone take this guy seriously after he says one of the most ****** comments here in in ESB.

"My ***** Money rocking that sweet ass coat. Man I wish I was a fly on the wall during that sit down. Goddamn I love Money."

How any self respecting grown man can affectionately call another many "Money" and at the same time declare their love for them is beyond me.

If Pac says **** off, who would Floyd fight?

Pac has a lot of good name opponents waiting at 140lbs while Floyd only has Pac. Again, who would Floyd fight if his negotiation with Pac will fail again? Retire permanently, perhaps?

first off, when pac and jmm fought, both names weren't that big. that was pre-oscar for pac and both men were fighting at small weight classes. you know that. when floyd came out of retirement, jmm was #2 lb for lb and has stirred up a lot of attention by destroying casamayor and the baby bull while going up to 135. also that was a return fight for floyd and people were looking to see him fight after a long lay off.

pbf-dela hoya fight was the biggest fight to have been made at the time, both were the top names in boxing and the fight was highly expected to be competitive and exciting. whereas pac-oscar was considered a joke. the level of interest at the time aren't even comparable.

I say enough with the fanboy 'he earned/drew this so he deserves this much' bs I say the solution is simple. STFU and take a 50-50 split with a bonus written in the contract to go to the official winner. Each fighter wears gloves of choice and the ring size will be the median of the difference should there be a size disagreement. In fact both fighters can come out to the ring and be introduced simultaneously so noone cries like a dsisatisfied little child.

There. Straight, to the point, and with no knob slobbing, cheerleading fanboy nonsense. People sounding like pathetic groupies up in here.

Probably that Mosley is American and much much much bigger name and draw than clottey?

    It's not ****ing rocket science.

And I personally don't give a **** who gets what. But if those 2 won't budge over 5% or so of multi-millions of dollars, then they're both ****ing idiots.

Why don't they just go 40/40 & winner takes the remaining 20%?

The only way to resolve the Gayweather v. ******* argument is to get both of them in the ring and Gayweather has proven time and time again he will not step in the ring with prime fighters at the top of their game that are a threat to him. That is a fact.
