Itauma is the goods

Joshus had similar buzz, yes, but was quite a bit older.

 

I like Itauma and his fights are really entertaining but it's still to early to tell. He needs to go in there with someone who actually wants to win. We will see if he's the real deal then but I'm not holding my breath. Every few years a heavyweight that's apparently going to be the next goat comes through and gets exposed.

 

He's certainly the most promising I've seen in awhile.

 

He’s fighting old bums. He beat Whyte in his retirement fight and then beats the guy who lost to Whyte the next fight. Every cab driver before those two, never even heard of their names before.

 

He's 21. Who were other Heavyweights in this era fighting at that age?

 

Never heard of them shows more about your interest in the division possibly

BTW Whyte is still actively pursuing fights so he isn't retired

I agree with most that he shouldn't be considered for a fight like Uysk right now but the Itauma hate and negativity is wild

14 fights in and a CV that says Franklin (first guy not only to knock him out but drop him), Whyte, Wach, and Mckean is solid

Mike Tyson didn't have those kind of opponents in his first 14 fights
Just enjoy him

 

Possibly the biggest hype job ever at this point. Hasn't proven much of anything to this point.

 

Calling someone the best prospect ever before they’ve even faced a top 25 opponent isn’t understanding prospects, it’s buying hype. Real prospects prove it step by step against legit competition. Until then, it’s just potential, not proof.

 

I'm sure the only reason people watch this sport is to complain, undermine talented fighters, and then gloat about being right if they lose. They get their enjoyment from watching people crumble on the big stage rather than from watching the actual sport. Itauma is an aggressive, 6-foot-4, rapid combination-punching southpaw, and someone the division absolutely needs to move on from the Joshua and Fury circus. He is the goods, and if he is not, he is going to be in some excellent fights regardless.

It wouldn't surprise me if Zuffa/Turki made a monster bid for him. I'd also be surprised if Itauma doesn't become the face of the HW division in the next few years. He's the most legit prospect I've seen for a long time.

 

Moses is a genuine talent and there looks a clear path open for him. The hype is already out of hand tho mainly because his strengths are good ones. Offense and great variety. You do need more than that tho.

He was starting to blow on saturday night. He got the knockout but his power was also starting to slow before hitting Franklin with a peach. He,ll develop that as he goes along. But atm hes not ready for the top guys. Offensively he is. But guys will spoil better than Franklin did and turn it on him as the rounds go on imo.

He need learning fights even if his talent is good enough.

Joshua,s talents we,re different but his hype was similar. He was a proper unit that hit standing targets incredibly hard. When the levels went up his chin and his predictability started to show. Moses hasnt really shown many weaknesses so far.....and he might not have any glaring ones.

But he does have one problem. Hes a high energy fighter that uses his variety to open up opponents. The heavyweights a durable division. What goes first his energy or their durability. At this stage their durability. As the level goes up....will it still be their durability. Bearing in mind a lot of the heavyweights gameplans are developed around being durable/efficient.

 

At that point it's a question whether he turns out to be a chinny, low-stamina albeit devastating sniper southpaw like Corrie Sanders, or something more complete. That being said, in current division a Corrie Sanders might just dominate what's in front of him.

 

Also look @ the circle hand Moses does just like Uysk,I think alot of people miss this but you can see who from lol (Uysk,).For 14 fights he's coming on good as a young boxer.

 

I still have reservations about him, but he is really growing on me now. It's also great to see an actually fast heavyweight instead of a plodding blobfish.

At this point the major point to prove is his chin. Ideally we'll see him in with a big puncher who will actually punch with him soon.
