Both Itauma and Morrison were undefeated, young knockout artists who dominated early, then gassed out and stopped in title fights against opponents possessing iron chins. Morrison showed signs of questionable stamina in a previous fight vs Yuri Vaulin. By the same token, Itauma showed stamina concerns against Jermaine Franklin. Will Itauma’s future career likely unfold much the same as Morrison's?
Itauma is more talented than Morrison and hopefully has his personal life more in order, but I agree there are some similarities as far as people wanting them to be better than they are.
I’d say what Filip walked through is the more impressive feat. Not that itauma hits harder but there were more rounds and shots taken. And the ****ing hype around itauma was wayyyyy more ludicrous than what Tommy was getting.
More talented??? Based off what??? Morrison’s best win is beating Foreman and Ruddock. And itauma’s??? Lol
I think klitschko vs purity is a bettwr example Mercer knocked morrison the hell out. It sounds like itauma just got tired after kicking hrgovics ass for 8 rounds
I honestly think it was a bit of gassing AND those right hands Filip started to land. Watch that 8th and 9th round again. Filip started cracking him.
Morrison was even more overhyped. The Ruddock win was great, but you have to look at the totality of his career and you will see that he was world class but more like top 5-7 HW level not top 3-5 like I think Itauma can be.
Finally saw some footage. Hrgovic definitely was scoring well and doing damage. Still not sure id compare it to Mercer vs morrison which was a massacre
