And that's when Itauma was starting to show the first signs of being tired. Itauma landed 26 punches in the 8th round and threw 65 punches overall in that round which was his highest total for the fight. So Itauma basically made 1 last stand in the 8th round to try and get Hrgovic out of there. Because he knew his stamina was depleting round after round. People say Hrgovic didn't hit Itauma that much but in the last round of the fight according to the stats. Hrgovic landed 29 punches in the round and the round was a long way from being over. Itauma was a mile ahead on points but you could see after the 4th round that Itauma was uncomfortable. And it was going to take a monumental effort for him to try and stop Hrgovic or last the distance. A simple case of a veteran with more savvy and experience putting mental and physical pressure on the more inexperienced fighter. Making him fight harder than he's used to do doing and taking him out of his comfort zone.
When you get hit 29 times in less than a round you're just a pinada at that point. The better man won.
Itauma started slowing down by round 3, there needs to be some major improvements if he expects to mix it up at world level in the future. This next era will be pretty weak unless prospects much better than Itauma can come through sweep up
That's the real problem here. This isn't just a pacing issue. Dude is sucking wind from the first couple of rounds. Like I've said in other threads, he had these same problems three years ago fighting nobodies and going all six rounds. Either this kid is lazy and entitled or he's getting absolutely zero real training on how to be a complete boxer from Fraudison or it's both. And if feather fisted Hrgovic's punches are bothering you, you got a problem there, too. He does have an extremely long time to get his head screwed on straight, dump the idiots around him, and improve. But he's not going to run this division for a loooooong time, assuming he even can.
Hrgovic isn't feather fisted, just has a bad habit of throwing arm punches. Something which he doesn't seem to be doing lately, actually.
Itauma fights at around 240. He wants to fight at that pace, he has to trim down to the 15 round era heavyweight package. Otherwise adjust to being more of a paced artillery.
Fully agree. He's made some really noticeable changes around his technique and behaviors in the ring. He does need to trim down a touch, but he's also only 21 so maybe he'll naturally fill out muscle-wise over time? Just looks like a bit of baby fat sticking around.

Excuse me. I should have said, "Compared to the other heavy hitters in the division, Hrgovic is feather fisted." This dude landed a zillion right hands on Dubious Dan's bowling ball of a skull and it did nothing.
he’s got him on a great final run. Looked good against Joyce, Adeleye, and Allen (admittedly he could have got off the couch without a camp and done that one), now upset the most hyped prospect in years to win the IBF. If he can get him through a defense or two, maybe win a unification, I’d call that a great end to a career. He’s what 36, so Father Time isn’t on his side here.
Hrgovic didnt really get much of a chance to exert mental and physical pressure as the kid came out the traps and threw the kitchen sink at him. The punch stats pretty much show us that. Moses threw mostly power punches. Power punches he put a lot into. His stamina,s actually not the problem. His pacing and inexperience was. Although the kid went in to take Hrgovic out and treat him like a journeyman and very nearly got it done. Hrgovic stayed in the game for long enough and got the job done as opposed to getting his own masterplan working. Not saying he didnt exert any mental or physical pressure but it wasnt nearly as effective as Moses punching himself out and Hrgovic staying in the game.
