Hrgovic is a completely different animal to McKean, this is a journeyman compared with a strong contender. Hrgovic is even better than Whyte which I've seen posts on here suggesting whether Itauma could beat Whyte. Hrgovic is an underrated fighter IMO, he did pretty well against Dubois and was unlucky to be cut which sailed the ship for him. I've heard that he has fallen out of love recently which is a shame because he does have a lot of talent.
As talented as Moses is, this is a very big risk to take so early in his career. Yes, Moses KO'd McKean in 1 and it took 12 rounds for Hrgovic but that performance against Hrgovic flatters McKean. McKean spent a lot of time holding and spoiling and Hrgovic looked disinterested again and as I've been saying for ages he throws way too many arm punches. When he put his full weight into that right hand that essentially finished McKean in the final round you could see and hear the difference in power
Doesn't mean McKean is any good. Not hugely relevant as it is a flawed theory but Hrgovic also has a bronze medal in the Olympics. He is an underrated fighter on here.
Too soon for itaumu. In fairness he looks like hes going to the top. But the difference with hrgovic and mckean is hrgovic has a much better control and judgement of distance. Makes all the difference. Mckean had no control of distance. Hrgovic would control it and most likely make the 19 year old slowly start to unravel at this stage. Should be targeting hrgovic for a couple of years down the line tho. Hrgovic is actually pretty good but his mentality is slightly questionable....switches off at times as well. His judgement of distance and small adjustements would most likely be too much for any 19 year old at this stage tho. Although itauma does look a bit special. Big prospect...he,ll have challenges ahead tho.
I'd give Moses another 3 or 4 fights in 2025. Then he'd crush Hrgovic, who fights as if he'd rathet be anywhere else but in the ring.
Zhang and Dubois detonated some serious bombs on Hrgovic's chin and he kept fighting. Possibly the best chin in the Heavyweight division right now. What happens when Itauma lands flush on Hrgovic's chin and Hrgovic is still boxing away? Hrgovic has proven himself in deep waters, Itauma hasn't... not yet, he still a 19 year old prospect while Hrgovic is a seasoned, but very inactive professional.
Hrgovic is a seasoned operator with a granite chin. Ituama is a huge talent, but he’s young and green. He needs some more incremental step ups before facing someone like Hrgovic. Don’t ruin this kid. Bring him up right. He’s got SERIOUS potential. Potentially (remains to be seen) another Mike Tyson. The speed, timing, and power he’s been showing are really something.
Man say what you want about Filip… but the dude has a granite chin. Yes he disappointed the **** outta me against dubois but he did land some nasty right hands (Not sure how dubois suddenly had the chin to take those, have my suspicions) and we don’t know if this rookie has the whiskers to eat that power yet. I’d lean towards Hrgovic
Big step up in class but I wouldn't right Itauma off as Hrgovic is easy to hit and has stamina issues. Itauma's speed and power will definitely see Hrgovic's chin tested repeatedly again. Question is can Itauma take it as well as dish it out? That's what we haven't seen so far from him and doing it against Hrgovic right now would be a big risk.
I don't know what to say about that fight, a high-risk fight and Hrgovic has no choice but to accept, Hrgovic has a habit of falling asleep for a few seconds during the fight and that is dangerous against Itauma...
