Whoa. In for that. Too bad Queensbury doesn’t seem to have anyone at 115. If I was Hearn, I’d have wanted to send in Bam (who doesn’t seem to have a fight scheduled yet anyway) as my team captain.
The matchups are pre-selected to ensure they are competitive, otherwise Matchroom would win in most divisions if you take their best fighters.
Queensberry has a good relationship with the WBO. And Usyk will likely face the winner of Dubois vs Parker, which means the WBO are just going to put an interim belt on the line so that the ranked guys can actually keep their careers going, instead of idly sitting and waiting for years. Corruption, it´s just corruption.
Corruption is correct. The WBO has two champions right now, Usyk and Parker. Now they want to crown a third? They're worse than the WBA at this point. Why isn't the Dubois-Parker fight for the IBF and WBO "Interim" belts? What's this "sitting idle for years" excuse? Moses hasn't even been a pro for TWO years yet. It's not like he's some long-suffering contender. Who was denying him his title shot? The matchup is fine. The fact that it's for a WBO world title is laughable. How many guys get to be WBO heavyweight champ at the same time? Corruption of the highest order.
This. It's an interesting bout, no question, and I'd certainly watch it... But neither of them has any business getting an easy route to a title shot - they've done nowhere near enough to be ranked that highly just yet.
Huni has great skills- combo punching - speed etc the only concern is ability to take a punch... I would back him to best Itamua but will need to be more defensively sound than he has shown
I think Parker likely vacated his interim WBO belt. And honestly, I wouldn´t have a problem with the WBO setting up another interim belt, because clearly it´s going to be a while before Usyk faces his WBO mandatory. But a fight between Itauma and Huni is just laughable. Oh, and the reason the Itauma and Huni are getting such high rankings is because they have both fought for WBO trinket´s. Itauma has had 3 fights with the WBO Inter-Continental Heavy title on the line. Huni has fought with the WBO Oriental Heavy title on the line twice, and the WBO Global Heavy title on the line 3 times. These guys are literally buying their rankings.
