Reading comprehension not your strong suit? I said that pacing yourself in a fight is Boxing 101. Training yourself to be able to make it 12 rounds is Boxing 101. It doesn't matter that Itauma was beating Hrgovic every round because he gassed himself worse than I've ever seen anyone gas themself in a fight before and couldn't finish the fight.

He literally could have walked around the ring and not thrown a single punch for the last 4 rounds and won the fight. Instead, he tried going for the KO and ended up TKO'ing himself.

Don’t be silly. Hrgovic, who was probably even MORE exhausted than Itauma, didn’t fold like a cheap suit once hit on the chin. Itauma went home on a stretcher for being stupid. Only mistake was that the whole Team itauma should have been carried off on a stretcher as they clearly were mentally delusional about their game plan.

Gas tank? Lmao. You're fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world and you gas out? After being up easy on the Score cards and having a 10-8 round? This is glorious. This is England football team losing to Argentina in the semi final or all their other chokes on penalties or in big games allover again.

    The English never learn.

This. Could have just stick and moved the remaining rounds like a true professional. But he didn't.

    No brains.

    Which is it then?

Because on one hand you're arguing it was poor training/a poor gas tank.

On the other, you're claiming it's bad decision making by going for the KO.

Actually you also said "His defence needs major work"

That's way over exaggerated. He was smashing up Hrgovic at every moment, ducking weaving and countering. All that was needed is a MINOR adjustment to pace.

    MINOR.

Moses actually showed a good gas tank considering he was putting out so much volume for someone's first time past 6 rounds.

Stop over exaggerating with MAJOR CHANGES needed. He looked fantastic, and Hrgovic himself said "I got lucky" pretty much

Is it not part of training to teach a fighter when to go for a KO and when not to? Is learning to pace yourself and manage the rounds not part of training?

I wouldn't be surprised if he's finished. Undue hype, thought he was untouchable, protected his whole career, only to be rendered literally unable to walk by his first real test. That is a horrible type of loss to come back from mentally. They game plan to beat him has been out for a while, and Hrgovich, who himself isn't an elite fighter, showed how to do it. If he comes back, he's going to be fighting creampuffs for years until a belt can be emailed to him.

You realize if the towel doesn’t come out he was getting savagely KOed don’t you? You call that ‘fantastic’?

What now? He needs to keep working hard, improving his stamina, Don't forget he's only 21 years old, this fight gave him a lot of experience.

Hrgovic moves and punches like he's underwater and yet Moses was getting tagged consistently throughout the fight. And he didn't seem to handle getting hit all that well, either.

Minor adjustments, you say? This dude just TKO'd himself through exhaustion so badly that he had to be stretchered out of the arena. When all he had to do was walk around and do nothing for the back half of the fight and he would have won handily. That's not "minor." Itauma has trained himself to be 10/10 on speed and explosiveness and 1/10 on stamina and fight IQ. That's not an overnight fix.

    lol captain obvious. Thank you.

Moses was looking fantastic up until he gasses and the towel came in. I agree with the stoppage, but he dominated Hrgovic violently every round.

And I was sat there hoping/rooting for Hrgovic...
