Itauma - what now? All that hype for what?

"His whole career" what career? He's only had 15 fights

 

This is like saying Joe Frazier looked fantastic up until the first knockdown by Foreman. He looked good until he didn’t.

 

Well, he went from being an 8-1 favorite and having a stadium full of people rooting for him to ... leaving on a stretcher tonight.

Whether he had an injured leg ... or he was just beyond exhausted ... or they were worried about his head because he couldn't get up and be interviewed ... we don't know yet.

Regardless, lots of guys don't recover from leaving the ring on a stretcher.

People are also leaving out that he is 21 and 241 pounds. And that was fit for him. He's been heavier. And he's not exactly ripped at this weight. Still looks kinda soft.

So, the chances of him down the road getting in "better shape" than he did when he was 21 are slim. (No pun intended.)

Still he should. His conditioning needs to be "ALOT" better.

But, if he returns to the ring and he's in the 260s or 270s, I'd say he's finished.

Guys get rushed to the top early and succeed, and many still have a hard time remaining there.

Guys who get rushed to the top, fail, and leave the ring on a stretcher don't have a great track record in this sport.

 

And yet this "slow" Hrgovic was piecing up "explosive and fast" dubois in their fight. Didb't look slow then did he???

Moses is just that good. And you are clearly salty about it and can't see things objectively. I am not even a moses fan, and I wanted Hrgovic to win.

But all Moses needed to do was not go for broke in early rounds, not fight off emotion, and pace....

That's a MINOR adjustment because it's a DECISION. It's a CHOICE.

He had all the skills, and his chin/stamina for his first time going past 6 rounds looked alright.

Hrgovic got dominated violently and that's a fact. Hrgovic agrees.

 

The way people have been going on about him, is as if he just had to turn up today and the title was his. The commentators after they all picked their jaws up from the floor, should have looked at each other with total embarrassment water the way they were carrying on.

 

Matters to who? lol

Moses can go on to dominate the division. Hrgovic won, and he got lucky but his own admission and by my assessment.

I am happy for Hrgovic and I wanted him to win, I don't like that he got a win by having a good chin and surviving... that's not really a good way to win is it?

But he deserves a belt for winning some tough fights in his career against good opponents

 

Pathetic how grown men feel the need to **** on a 21 year old that just left all he had in the ring against one of the 3-5 best heavyweights in the world. Winning almost every round until his circulation could not keep up with the task.
Basically only losing to inexperience.

 

What's the credit? luck?

 

Harden up, it’s a boxing forum where we talk about boxing. The biggest hype job in years just got beat, damn sure everyone will have an opinion.

 

Hrgovic is giving the best honest break down of Moses post fight. Amazing talent but fought like an amateur with no idea how to pace himself for a 12 round fight. Even Hrgovic admitted Moses could have just cruised to the end boxed his ears off but stupidly decided to go toe to toe.

 

I think it's just salty old men who can't give a young guy his props.

I am salty to a degree about a guy like Moses dominating all these top heavies of yesterday and current ones like Hrgovic as it highlights how father time gets to us all... but I am objective enough to call it how it is... Moses looked strong/dominant/fantastic.

He made a rookie error and it cost him the fight, but it's a minor adjustment for next time. If we went back in time and ran this fight again, just telling moses to "slow down" would have won him the fight.

He doesn't need any major adjustment like technique/defence/offence/stamina. He just gassed himself out like many experienced and non experience professional fighters have done before him.
