Itauma - what now? All that hype for what?

How about we go to the horses mouth.

I'm not crying, just stating that my expectation of grown men is a different one. That's just childish venting.

Also i reserve terms like hype job to people how are far beneath what is said of them. Like jared anderson maybe.

Itauma is pretty much exactly what people said of him. Plus his chin seems okay at least. As was to be expected with his build.

Plus he had the mentality. Only thing that failed him was stamina.

If anyone who loses for the first time is a hype job to you, then you are the reason why career-minded fighters avoid the best oppostion and why we get so many **** fights.

 

It is the "mental" aspect that I now worry about with Itauma.

Can he come back mentally?

The talent is certainly there.

 

I really hope so. Don't know what that did to his body and also confidence. Will be waiting for news from them and what the next opponent will be.

True, but same comments and criticism rattled the greats like Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis. They also got emotional about it.

Moses I hope doesn't let this affect him mentally because he looked superb and can come back and dominate this division with little effort.

I think Hrgovic got under his skin in the build up and Moses was fighting off anger, nervous energy and emotion. Hope he is okay, he looked in a bad way on the stretcher. I'm assuming its sheer exhaustion.

 

I don't see him dominating the Division with ease, though. Kabayel could do the same to him. Now that dubois knows that itauma can be beaten this way he will certainly not give up against him.

That might force itauma to be way less active and maybe make him a 20 punches per round fighter.

Depends on how much energy loss was nervousness i think

Hrgovic is a bang average heavyweight. He's got a chin and that's it. He literally Homer Simpson'd his way to a win tonight because Itauma and Boxercise Ben couldn't be bothered to train for 12 rounds. It's a CHOICE to continue going for the KO, but it's beyond obvious to anyone who knows about boxing (which you don't) that Itauma is unable to fight at 100% for more than a few rounds. All that speed and explosiveness you keep getting your kneepads out for? He's only able to keep it up for a short amount of time. If he continues at it he gets stretchered out of the arena and loses to a plodder whose best win is a squeaker of a decision over 40 year old Zhang. If he decides to pace himself, then he isn't nearly as dangerous. Just because he was beating Hrgovic doesn't mean jack ****. Dubois would have killed him. Kabayel would have mauled him. Usyk would have pieced him up and drowned him. He's got to completely change himself to be effective for 12 rounds.

But hey, I'm just salty that Moses Itauma is such a good fighter that he did the chicken dance in the ring and had to be stretchered out in the biggest embarrassment in British boxing since who knows when. Ya got me.

 

Doubt it, to be honest. He's just another over hyped bum.

Maybe you should go train Moses, he would benefit greatly from your advice Mr Expert. You would be paid for your time.

Or you can continue trying to convince me how Moses needs major work when he dominated the EFF out of a top heavyweight (in todays era) at only 21 years old while going past 6 rounds for the first time. Hrgovic who won silver at the olympics and has like 5 to 10 times the experience Moses has.

Hrgovic is bang average compared to what exactly? He was a top 5/10 heavy and now a champ in the current era.

 

I am smart and knowledgeable. Definitely more than you. Just like how I'm smart and knowledgeable enough to know that Hrgovic won BRONZE at the Olympics, not Silver, you dope.

He took on one of the best heavyweights at 21.. its generally why heavyweights just ease into it and fight no risky fights early.... undefeated career blew though unfortunately and he definitely has the ability to have achieved that.
