It's a catch 22 with the Klitschkos.

^ So you're saying part of the problem with Wlad is that people don't like his fighting style therefore give him no credit?

It doesn't matter. Wlad and Vitali will be considered ATG champions.

Wlad will be much higher in the ranks since he has many more fights.

In the ~130 year history of boxing Wladimir has held the title the 2nd longest at HW and he is a few years away from hanging them up -----------> That's saying something.

All Wlad has to do is keep fighting (and winning) and unify the WBC belt and his All-Time status can't be disputed.

The division is ****. Simple as that. Who have the Klits fought that were good? I mean, just look at who Wlad's fighting today.

    Mercer? Are you serious?

Haye's best wins are Ruiz and Valuev.

Povetkin went life and death with a limited CW in Huck.

What are Ibragimov and Chagaev's best wins?

    Byrd is a former SMW.

Don't know who Brock or McCline are.

Thompson's best wins are Solis and Price.

Despite what people say, people do NOT hate the Klits because they're Eastern European. Kovalev, Golovkin, and Provodnikov have plenty of American fans. They hate them because
    1) The HW division is dreadful
    2) They (or at least Wlad) are boring as sin.

All they do is win and get criticized for it from "fans" with agendas. I know they are well respected among their peers. It takes a man to give credit where credit is due. Let the Peanut Gallery cry like babies :| over their DECADE of success :bbb I'll bet Wlad by 5th rnd KO today over Leapai :deal

Well, he could fight someone in the top ten instead of someone with one good win, that would help.

His next defence better be against a better fighter.

You know that Byrd was a former SMW, but don't know who Brock or McCline are?

Sounds like you may be telling some fibs...:bart

To a certain degree yes. The division is weak and while he is dominant he is not impressive like Tyson was or Louis was when they dominated very average era's.

Wlad also lacks a signature win that will have fans talking about him many years from now. No thriller in Manilla, no rumble in the jungle, no devastating KO of a fighter like Spinks not even a wild brawl like Lewis/Vitali that gets debated to death over a decade later. With Wlad all we have are a number of tedious fights.

Had Wlad smashed Haye or Povetkin which were by far the 2 biggest fights of his reign then he would be remembered more fondly as time passes. Fans still talk about Louis crushing of Schemling, Tyson's KO of Spinks, Foreman dropping Frazier like a yoyo and Ali's domination of Cleveland Williams. These fights helped define these fighters and were showcases for the fighters at the peak of their powers they resonated with the fans, Wlad has no such win.

The Klitschos have done very well for themselves considering they only possess mediocre B level skills.
Also being raised in Russia where Steroid usage is not nearly as controlled like it is in the US tremendously assisted the Klitschos in their monster growth patterns.

Once, thanks to long term steroid use, they had grown proportionately beyond the reach of their competitors, only one thing was missing.

That missing element would be the great contribution of an American trainer, Emmanuel Stewart who would teach them how to leverage their major weapons, their overwhelming size to their advantage.

The bothers were compensated for their lack of skills and dexterity by a huge size and weight advantage, coupled with Stewart "How To Use Your Size" training enabled the Klitschos to overwhelm the majority of todays' lack luster HWs contenders.

The Klitschko haters always mention Byrd started at super-middleweight (actually his first fight was above the super middleweight limit at light heavyweight). His fourth fight was at heavyweight.

Billy Conn, a well-known Joe Louis opponent, started at lightweight 135.

Some people hate the Klitschkos because they prefer black boxers, either because they are nerdy white guys who hate themselves and wannabe black (VG_Addict) or because they are black supremacists (JASPER).

That's just the way it is. Some things will never change.

I already disproved that theory in an earlier post. I don't know why Klittards keep saying that when it's been disproved. Kovalev, Golovkin, and Provodnikov all have good-sized fanbases in the US. Hell, Kovalev drew 1 million fighting a no-name in Cedric Agnew. Golovkin-Macklin drew 1.1 million viewers.

You know why? Because all three of them are exciting fighters. It has nothing to do with race. And before you reply that Floyd is boring, Floyd is one of the biggest draws in the sport right now. Wlad has probably turned people OFF of boxing with his performances against Povetkin and Ibragimov.
